Very interesting and pleasing to see Gaspar at FB. I would guess that Carroll will make the bench as backup and Judd, Fletcher and Cox will be the other three.

But........mmmmmmm........how about Banners

I saw Ashley Sampi today at Subiaco oval in the Eagles Shop. I asked him how long did he think he would get a game. he replied hopefully soon as he it itching to get out and play for the Eagles

I was hoping he might even get a bench job this week.....oh well....

Mainy on 7 news said that since the Bulldogs only have Darcy as their #1 big man, the Eagles will probably give Cox a rest this week and give either Carroll or Hunter a game.

Well Penny is out for the Doggies so that limits there height. So giving Cox a rest wont be that much of a gamble. Good to see Gaspar and Haynes into the side, still no Humm or Sampi though.

Dont know if Banners will be dropped...the four interchange player will probably be Carroll, Judd, Banfield and Fletcher.

I think we can win this one and will be disappointed if we dont come out on top...im expecting a big one from Cuz.

I don't know if you all missed it, but HAYNES!! is on the HFF. This week he cements his spot in the team, next week he starts his path to All Australian honours ;)

Thats right D4E! Our adopted son looks like he's ready to make his mark as a full time member of the team, slowly building his way up to the Club Champion, All-Australian before receiving the 2002 Brownlow Medal. He kicked an absolute blinder from 60m out on the tightest of angles last week for Subiaco - I hope he can repeat that dose against the Doggies on the weekend

Cox, Carroll and Green named as emergencies. That means Hunter gets his chance, I reckon if he doesn't play a blinder it may be his last chance to prove himself.

Woosha must play a great poker hand. Just look at the flexibility in the team. No-one knows where anyone will play other than Wilson and Jako. Even Fido gets a go in midfield. In Gaspar we may see FB, Ruck, CHF, Pocket etc. Hunter, Forward, Half back, Half forward...you name it.
How does the opposition plan match ups?
I mean they spend all week working out how to tag Benny and he starts in a forward pocket.......that must throw plans out for a while.

The news is that Brent Tuckey did not play for East Perth today, which means Woosha is leaving the Bulldogs guessing, will he retain his spot in the side or will someone come in for him?

Gasper will probably play at chf and Gardy I should imagine will run with Darcy. Looking to the future Gasper may be the one to take Jako's place at CHB. Haynes has always impressd me and is an excellent mark and kick maybe more consistent than Embley who's spot in the side may be in doubt if he does not perform this week

I doubt his position is in doubt. He had a blinder against Freo and played pretty well in the first half against Collingwood before being benched?? in the second half.

I didn't think you could bring in someone who wasn't named in the emergencies?

Both Cox and Carroll played WAFL yesterday, so the only player who could come in would be Green, which wouldn't surprise me as he can play small defender against their several midfielders who rotate through the forward line.

I think you're allowed to do it, but a hefty penalty applies. I remember the eagles brought in Fewster without naming him in the original squad of 25, but brought him in and he absolutely destroyed the opposition (probably his best game for us). Cause a bit of controversy at the time.

Scotty, no offence, but have you seen the first two games of the season? T-Wil aside, Embley has been our best forward.

rant over

You can, but as D4E said the AFL fines clubs who do bring in players who weren't originally listed. I think Mick did this in a final by bringing in Punky Brewster (Brendan Fewster).

Gday espey - good to see another Eagle here!
