Good to see Jono Brown push for either Beams or Andrews making the AA team.

Sadly, Brown has gone down the same path as Alistair Lynch and any other ex-Lions that have joined the media that rarely publically push the Lions cart similar to Eddie McGuire, James Brayshaw, Paul Roos etc. do for their respective clubs.

Browny isn't anywhere near Alistair in terms of trying to un-bias himself.

You'd think Lynch hated the Lions based on how he calls games involving us or speaks about us.

I didn't think Harris had a great start to the year, but just before he was injured he looked like a 16 year old kid playing in the under 12s.

His early form will count against him and Hawkins kicking a lot will be a sticking point.

Stef Martin beat Grundy both times he played on him and only lost his position twice for the year. Who knows how Beams' direct opponent played in each game. I don't like mid fielders as no one knows who the are playing on.

Stef for my AA side nomination.

Is your criticism that those commentators are unprofessional or that our ex-players should be?

There are ...
- commentators who are one eyed barrackers for their club ... they annoy us and we think they should be as banned from the mike in those games as Fisher from umpiring Saints games
- commentators who call a game that includes their team and you wouldn't know it from their words (is good)
- commentators who try so hard to *not* be biased that they end up harsher judges of their own team than anyone else. This can be really annoying if you have the first type barracking for the opposition and 'our' guy apparently doing the same ...

Probably been said, but my god. How on earth did Trent Cotchin make the AA squad?

He is a very good player, but there would be so many better seasons by other midfielders across the competition. It's a real head scratcher for me. His stats are almost below average for a midfielder...

When you saw them standing there last night you could understand the decision making. I was disappointed for Harris but believe that there are a few more areas to work on like interception marking and not just spoiling. He will never be a rebound type but he certainly projects as a player who will be a mainstay down back. Rest assured he'll have plenty of opportunities to make AA squad in the future.

Buddy as captain ..... joke and a half

Nup.

I don't have a problem with it.

Rance as captain last year seems to have generally been accepted without a great deal of hand wringing.

Buddy is now an 8 time AA, equalling the all time record.

He's also a once in a generational player, a match winner and a guy who frequently drags his club over the line when they seem destined to lose.

Who would have been a better choice as captain of this AA team.,bearing in mind that it doesn't have any opposition to play?

Hurn as an actual captain of a team who finished second on the ladder when most picked them to finish much lower.

Buddy's achievement as 8 time AA is amazing but I dont see why you would make him captain.

what KissKiss said, but mostly because he is an actual captain and leader

I can't see the AA team winning any matches.

Lack of leadership is the problem no doubt:rolleyes:

Not to mention poor facilities, lack of cohesion (I mean some of these guys will hardly spend any time in the same room with their teammates), and kultcha!
