Great to read that our club is helping out the RBH Burns Unit.
I always knew that burn injuries were difficult to treat, required loads of fluid, take a while before the full extent of the injuries reveal themselves etc etc.
What I hadn't heard of is how the patients have to be kept in 39+deg surrounding temperatures otherwise the body/skin cools too quickly and it screws with the healing process.
That makes it hell for the medical staff who have to try and work in those conditions for hours at a time.
Great idea by the Lions to donate their Ice Vests for the staff to use to help keep them cool so they can get on with doing their jobs.
