Mr Magill said Mr Partridge claims he was approached by a group of men as he stood at a taxi rank outside the Toowong Towers, not far from the Royal Exchange Hotel, when the AFL identity was heard to say: "a wheelchair ******, you beauty.''
Mr Partridge, in his statement to police, said the player, who was in the company of suspectedly drunken mates, then tipped him out of his chair and boarded his taxi as it arrived.
Mr Magill said when Mr Partridge tried to protest that the cab was for him, the men allegedly threw food -- specifically kebabs -- at him and left him lying on the ground.
