$13 million tonight, $30 million on Saturday night. Should be enough to keep the Club out of trouble and keep me living a comfortable lifestyle (if invested well lol).
And Hello Mr Tippett:)

The Herald Sun are reporting today that:
- Melbourne spent $18m on there footy department last year
- Collingwood spent $21.2m

That compares to our spending of $17.2m. Obviously Collingwood's figure is distorted a bit by extra payments due to finals, but still it is huge.

By the way the poor Magpies only made a profit of $7.8m. Poor buggers, the AFL is obviously bleeding them dry with all that 'equalisation'!!! They also apparently have net assets of over $18m, compared to our net assets of -$3m.

So the Pies spent $4M more on their footy department, made about $10M more profit than us and are over $20M ahead in assets...

The AFL needs to concede that the gap off-field for clubs is widening. How can we hope to match those figures? We haven't even made a profit in five seasons! What hope do we have of boosting footy spending by a couple of million?

The issue here Pancho all comes back to the draw, Collingwood have access to Anzac day and other Blockbusters, yes they have the biggest supporter base, but other teams are not getting access to these games as the AFL right or wrong is obsessed with maximizing crowd numbers.

If the AFL want to start leveling the playing field a bit they need to start making the Pies and others pay premium prices for exclusive rights to these major games, so then the funds can be shared to clubs who aren't allowed to even ask for games on these days then we can start to try and level the income a little, yes the bigger teams should have more cash flow with more memberships. But they don't need all the inflated gate receipts to make them even more powerful, not unless they want to start sharing these blockbuster dates.

The hard fact is, with our TV coverage outside of Queensland, membership numbers and a team down the road getting fed to survive, it is becoming increasingly harder to remain competitive in the AFL, I don't want to be a club only surviving because we are spoon fed by the AFL, but the reality is we are what we are, and this is not at the fault of our board, supporters or members. We are just caught in the cross fire of a multi billion dollar TV deal which doesn't allow us to try and grow our supporter base.

Its never been fair from the beginning when they formed the Bears with a side of rejects from other Clubs.
The great thing is, through all the battles this now merged team has beaten Collingwood in two grand Finals
So stick that up your clacker Pies:p

I believe if everyone sticks by this Club ,buy whatever membership is affordable ,we can succeed once again with this group of players we have.
We are used to no one giving a rats about us,just makes us stronger:thumbsu:

The reality is these few years were always going to be tough while we clean up errors made over the past 5 years. I am sure we can succeed again, but what worries me is the teams at the top are no longer changing (Even though we are in an "even " competition), this is a direct result of the current set up produced by AD, our club us to fighting and I am sure we will get back to the top, but its not going to be an easy ride.
