Apparently the twos had a hit out at Aspley over the weekend. Link.

The Hornets had a solid hit-out against the Brisbane Lions at Graham Road last weekend and travel to the Sunshine Coast for an all-encompassing camp to build momentum into the 2011 NEAFL season.
In this age of the information superhighway, it would have been nice to know about.

There could have been no more than 6 listed players available I would have thought, unless some of the bigger names played small parts?

Green will play seniors soon. He is where the ball is.

The rest were forgettable- mostly a rabble. Little sign of team work or cohesion. Not as committed as Redlands.

Polec's field kicking is incredible.

Doesn't rocket off the boot like Rich's but he has the same vision and is equally as precise. With a sodden, heavy ball no less.

There was one goal today where we went coast to coast from a kick in, culminating with Karnezis sidestepping through the corridor and delivering the ball precisely to the main in the square. Crowd enjoyed it.

I am surprised Harwood and Polec played. I just assumed they were being rested, whereas it now appears they were (sort of?) dropped.

Who knows what the thinking was behind that, they certainly were not the worst out there last week by a long shot.

Maybe they just didn't want Polec to travel 3 weeks in a row, and they wanted to see more of Beams could do in the middle (instead of Harwood).

Could well be that Polec and Harwood are certs for round 1, giving the other guys an opportunity to push for senior selection against AFL standard players?

Ressies beat Redlands 6.7.43 to 5.3.33

Second half goalkickers were Karnezis (a Stevie J special in traffic), Collier (nice set shot tight on the boundary) and a top up player.

Morningside next. We aren't playing against Mt Gravatt.
