Rich looked a class or two above but perhaps a little harder for him to read the game at this lower level. Went deep into defense late and made some seriously crucial plays.

Harwood was prolific early and kept finding it. Kept trying to kick in board though which resulted in some nightmarish turnovers.

Polec did not have a good game at all. Little impact and wasn't running hard in the fourth quarter.

How does Buchanan dominate at reserves level but fail to play well in the seniors?

I was talking to Bryce last night after the game.

The final tally was 18 marks, kicked 0.8 and 2 on the full. He was filthy about his kicking, but happy with his general game.

That is a phenomenal effort. Obviously the 10 missed shots is a big concern but 18 marks is Brown-like.

A few of the support staff were giving him a bit of a ribbing.

During the last quarter, Joel Tippett was reminding him of it too:p. Let's just say Bryce's comeback was swift and X rated (and loud enough for all to hear). Pretty sure Joel would have been looking over his shoulder for the rest of the game. Bryce was not a happy camper. :eek:

Yeah, Clark's goal kicking resurrection has been a positive from the coaching staff.

Kicking to the Condemned End was tricky, but best I not tell you any more. One early in the second quarter hurt my eyes watching it:eek:

Between the ears. Any sport, any coach will tell you that ism where games are won & lost. Imagine being in Retzy's head, when everything just gets worse, until at the end you just give up. AAAHHHH ****.:mad:

Good thing he has the worst day of his life out of his system, hay.:thumbsu:
 
I had a chat to one of the reserves coaches on Saturday night. He was pretty happy with the effort - except for the woeful kicking, especially in the second quarter - and felt the mood was really good to have a red hot crack against Sydney this weekend. I hope they can get up, but I'm thinking they won't have Dan Rich this weekend :D

I;m actually going to be at Blacktown on Saturday afternoon for the international cup. will have to walk between PNG v Nauru and Lions v Swans reserves as they are right next to each other. AA chance for Don barry to catch up with his old mates
 
mikey, do you know if there's any entry fee for either of those? I was thinking of heading out to BOP for the reserves game but had no idea whether it's charged admittance - I'm a Giants member for the other games that have been out there, so don't know what the deal is.
 
all international cup games are free apart fromthe ones that are curtain raisers to AFL games so as it is at the same venue it will be free
