Great work dlanod - the chat on GWS is rather one sided. Lions might as well not be there lol!

Where have they got Cal playing?

Staker playing on Folau?

Yep, kept him quiet until a goal just then.

Bartlett has been through the middle with a lot of time on the bench.

Goalless so far in the second, GWS in front 7.5.47 to 6.4.40.

McCauley goals after a 50m for kicking into the man on the mark. Folau crumbs a response.12.10.82 to 9.7.61 at 3/4 time. Buchanan the other goal kicker that quarter.

GWS pressure and our own skill errors causing us trouble. Bartlett played almost all that quarter, but little impact. Dyson is getting a lot of it but wasting it. Austin is playing through the middle and looks better there than his pitch hitting in the seniors. Polec getting more of it that quarter too, including a 50m to 50m run that ended with Cornelius hitting the post.

GWS GIANTS:
Mitch Golby just picked a little kid up from the ground and carried him back to his mum on the side lines - good family footy

GOLD!

Cheers dlanod, much appreciated. Who were our best players in your eyes ?

Staker was easily a class above. As I said, I'd be surprised if he isn't back in the seniors next week.

I don't think anyone else really put their hand up for selection.

McCoullough was good up forward (two goals) early but didn't make an impact after part way through the second quarter.

Barry and Dyson both seemed to be everywhere without much hurt factor.

Polec and Bartlett both came into the game more in the fourth quarter. Bartlett seems to have a complete disregard for life and limb, laying really solid tackles and taking some big hits by bracing himself and just taking on tacklers.

McCauley had the better of Giles in the ruck, but Giles hurt us more around the field.

Austin looked pretty good in the midfield and if anyone else gets injured I wouldn't be surprised to see him come in. Buchanan was another big body, but while he got his fair share of clearances he didn't dominate like he apparently has in previous games.

With Retzy being subbed off in the seniors this week, ya think ACorn is any chance to come in next week?

You'd have to say yes, he's a chance with a couple of goals this week but I'm not sure what the coaches are looking for.

Retzlaff and Cornelius are very different players. If Cornelius is going to come into the team it would most likely be at the expense of Karnezis and based on today it's definitely not going to happen for next week's game.

It would depend if Brown could play a bit higher.

IIRC Lynchy said last week during the game that the lions don't want Brown moving up the ground an it's not the first time I've heard someone involved with the lions say this...such a shame though.

Cheers dlanod. How well did Callum move? Were his pace and agility on display? Would be fantastic if he can still move like pre-injury.

Not really, but no one did really. Congested footy all day, lots of stoppages.

Who knows where ACorn is at in the eyes of the coaching staff. He has impressed a few times without a call up.

Get him in, work out if he is part of the plan going forward.:thumbsu:

Retzy has done a great job in 2011, and has shown enough to give him more time. We need to audit the playing roster, and it should be ACorn's turn now, you just never know what will happen, I had written off Sam Sheldon, but have seen enough to think he will be on the list next year.:thumbsu:

Yeah, that's where I'm at with ACorn. Time to give him a few games and see where he's at. I can actually see him having half a chance of succeeding in a semi-functioning forward line now with the likes of Karny, Sheldon and Banfield sharing a little bit of the load with Brown.
