More than interesting... its outstanding.

This sort of open voting won't deliver a definitive answer. But what it will deliver is some true information as to if it is a genuine issue for their supporter base or not. Then they can seriously go through the motions of considering a definitive member vote.

To me its acknowledgement by the Eagles that they are prepared to listen to what the fans might be saying.

Where as the Lions Board is just dismissive - they don't think its an issue.

More and more as other clubs consult their fans as to jumnpers and the like, our Board end up with egg on their faces.

Appreciate the offers of West Coast supporters to vote in a Brisbane jumper poll if one ever happens but I'd rather they didn't.

The Lions admin have been extremely dodgy in their approach to the whole issue and they will latch on to any perception of vote rigging if it helps their agenda.

Confident we have the numbers to comprehensively support the classic Lions guernsey without needing to recruit opposition supporters.

Would love to see you boys get something done about your jumper. The triple premiership jumper as your home, a fitzroy version as your away and a bears version as your clash.

What is your thoughts though on an older fitzroy version with the darker maroon, navy blue with a white lion? My thinking is it would be too similar to the triple premiership jumper but boy it would look classy.

Change white lion to gold Lion and it looks awesome. I've posted mock ups here somewhere.

Yeh, it was more reference to a heritage jumper or a fitzroy anniversary jumper that you guys wore a few years back that looked amazing. In my eyes, you are the Brisbane Lions and the Brisbane Lions history is defined by the three-peat. That jumper should never have been changed.

Understand your concern TBD, but not sure I share your confidence that we (if you mean Lions members/supporters generally) have the numbers. Particularly if "numbers" means something like 75% of the vote. Anyway, knowing our club's administration attitude to these things, if they were to seek input on the jumper it wouldn't be via an open poll such as Westcoast's but a member only one.

Apologies if this is old news but Johnson said on the radio tonight that a questionnaire will be sent out to members soon regarding which jumper we want them to wear and they will take the results into consideration making their decision to be announced at the AGM.

Two famous quotes come to mind, well one famous and one not so famous but indelible in my mind - Ladies - I apologise for the profanities - but it was how it was deliverd;

Denis Pagan - "Don't piss on my back and tell me it's raining"

Former Business Acquantaince - "I'm the biggest whore around - but please don't **** me like one"

To roll over now and give some good news to cover up the incompetence is pretty pathetic, if you add singing the song with the players after the game it's just highlights what a sad little game he and his crew are playing.

The blokes on the radio said minutes after interviewing Johnson that there is a distinct lack of blokes with footy nous representing the club at board level and I agree completely that this might be part of the problem.

Have mentioned to a few others in the past that the jumper issue, from the board's perspective, is effectively in a glass box marked "in case of emergency - break glass".

This announcement pretty much confirms it.

Livid members - some risk of real action - quick! Use the jumper extinguisher!

I'll be happy if it gets done the right way, but the cynic in me thinks it's self interest alone that's the driver here.

Survey now? Report at AGM? Means another 12 months at least of jumper we don't like, when you see clubs like Port, Bulldogs and West Coast dealing with this in such a timely manner over the past few years I am truly scared.

I think the thing we need is a method in which the Board become accountable for their actions, because they simply aren't at the moment and they are ripping the heart out if our club and we are helpless to stop them.

Great news if so....but gee, its hard not to be cynical in light of everything else..

Yep, I don't trust them at all.

If it is a mail in survey, what will stop them pulling the old "we only received 10 wanting a return to the old jumper" trick.

What a sad state the club is in, people closely involved with the club no longer trust the board, but we have so many non AFL background members who don't care that they know they can't get booted out.

If we are not careful we will be like Richmond have been 1983 to 2008.
