Not a lot of free parking around the Gabba but there are places within the Gabba restricted parking area.
Parking signs override the Gabba Restricted Parking Area
If there is no signage its only 15 minutes
The key wording to look for is "No limit" or "No limit other times"

On the above sign. The game is on a Saturday so if you park after noon, you get booked in the Gabba Parking Area
If the above sign had added to the bottom or side "No Limit Other Times" you can park and no fine applies

I find usually one side of the street has some of these "No Limit" or "No Limit Other Times" the other side of the street does not.

You just have to read the sign in total and if you fit within whats indicated on the sign you are fine

For arguments sake if you went to the Pineapple for dinner at 4.30 pm.
The sign states paid parking 6am to 6pm Monday to Saturday No Limit Other times
You need to pay for the period 4.30pm to 6pm after that it's free and no fine attached for the game.
Good luck finding a park
Thanks mate thought I'd risk it so unfortunately I'll be paying a $125 parking fine. Worth it to see that win though !

Why? No clubs offering digital kayo memberships really need to do anything for it, but they do get your data. I don't think this would be a lucrative revenue earner for them.
Kayo knows that a portion of its subscriber base cancels its membership in the 5 months this that footy isn't on, so they might get only $315 from you (45*7). So instead they charge you $375 but you get the 5 months of the rest of the year, because if you're in the category of fan who cancels kayo, summer sports is only worth $12 a month, not $45.

Kayo presumably pays the clubs and/or AFL as part of their broadcast deal to be able to be allowed to access membership databases and club membership selling platforms (playing off club loyalty) to more effectively market/target this to passionate AFL fans.

I'm already a cricket fan so it's worth it for non-C7 internationals like Australia white ball home internationals, BBL games plus that they're touring India etc. In Jan/Feb this year which is covered by Kayo. So it's effectively $31 p/m for me. I also have a passing interest in Darts etc. so will flick on the World Championships in the NY/Christmas period.

Netball/Motorsports also does it for some people.

It's a good deal if you're otherwise a general sports fan, typically cricket, that will make use of it between October/Feb. If you couldn't give a stuff about it (or Netball/Darts/Motorsports), not really.

Reckon that first sign is what got me

I drove down to chermside, validated my ticket at Westfield for $10, caught the bus. It’s a bit painful after the game, but $10 is a damn sight better than $125 😜
