lol, the cats put together 2 great and a couple of decent drafts ( helped with f/s) all in close succession. alot of good players all in their prime at the same time. when that group leaves they will have a completely different unit in every way. a club is more than 1 or 2 players, gc and ablett have showed us that.

Jmac is to me a little like Kane...he reads the play exceptionally well and his work rate is outstanding
He wins the ball more often than not but his execution is below par

Maybe we just have to work with his strengths and allow him to win the ball and maybe handball to a spreading player

Just get a deal done for Levi Greenwood, what ever it take within reason, get him. Would also love to see Koby Stevens in the black and teal next year, real bull at the gate in and under style player, exactly what we need.

Tom Swift, despite the name, is slow both of leg speed and decision making. I live in WA and watch a bit of WAFL footy, and although he has played some nice tagging roles for WCE this year he wouldn't even be in the best half dozen players at Claremont.

Not Really sure why Rodan isn't getting games, so he's not really fit enough to play as a midfeilder play him forward for F*** Sake. But don't be fooled teams who think they can win a premerish will be interested. Should be able to get an early second round draft pick for D. Stewart so maybe that will be enough to get Stevens or Greenwood.

Don't really care if Chaplin leaves, once thought he'd be a star but now just over rated and soft. Need to find away to keep Pearce one of our most important players. Would be absolutely livid to see Mitch Banner go i honestly believe he can be that extra class midfielder, one of the most talented players of ports list, if he can get fit.

we need in and under??

cassisi, cornes, moore, broadbent, boak, ebert, gray, thomas and i think jacobs future lies there.

all can win the ball in packs. only 2 at the end of their careers.

what we really lack and need is quality outside pace and skills.

pearce, wingard, pittard hartlett and oshea seem to be our outside, and not all have both speed and good kicking skills.

because for every good thing he does his opponent does 6 good things while rodan is nowhere to be seen. deserves to be a fringe midfielder at best which is exactly what he is. come in when we have too many injuries/ poor form.

lol. no we wont.

sure, ship not-a-star chappy off and try to find a tall that is better to put in our team. good luck.

lol, the last thing i would describe banner is as one of our most talented. i honestly think he might be able to make an afl side but i dont see what he would bring to our team? isnt a great field kick slam on boot type player. im not against him staying on the list another year although ild rather we try to find out sooner rather than later by a run later this year.

Goals. I find that they tend to be quite a useful commodity in AFL games.

Gray isn't an inside mid. Thomas doesn't have the leg speed to play in the midfield. If you watch the games Ebert and Cornes are the only players on ports list fit to an AFL standard and so are needed to run and spread. Cassisi had a good month off half back before getting injured. Jacobs dosn't look interested and Moore's not quite ready yet. So yes another contest ball player would be handy, and we'll still have an early draft pick to use on a player with a bit more class.

We have enough contested ball players. That's not the problem. The problem is that most of them are spuds from a time when we were so soft and lazy that anybody who gave half a shit deserved a game no matter how bad they were. We need to move them on and replace them with younger, better contested ball players. Greenwood is one such player.

Adelaide have good depth and will have to upgrade Crouch and Callinan at the end of the year. Are there any players we would want for free? Knights (free trade) Tambling! (likely delist - just need agreement) and Symes! (likely delist - just need agreement) all seem to be dominating at sanfl level. Are they worth a shot? Is there anyone else who could improve our list for free?

TAMBLING!?

There's a really good reason why Knights, Tambling and Symes have spent the majority of the year at SANFL level and it aint because they're being forced out of the AFL side.

Wouldn't have any of them near our senior list. Knights may be worth a rookie punt but even he may past AFL usefulness.

our ability to win the ball is beyond a fair few sides in the afl now.

our ability to kick the ball is probably close to the worst.

i know why we are losing games, and it has nothing to do with farming the ball out of packs.

Agreed, but we should be targeting guys like Greenwood who can do both. Paying Paul without robbing Peter.

He was never an AFL player. He is just Brett Ebert on a wing.

Harsh. May've lost his legs now, but when fit he was capable of finding a ton of ball, has a huge left foot and unquestionable ground-level goalsense.

ild be happy for us to go after greenwood, ive said before he wouldnt really be what we need but would be an upgrade on some spots around the backend of our 22.

i have no idea what it would take to get him in a trade though but if our 2nd would fly then i would be happy with that as ild rate him over an unproven pick in that neighbourhood.

Can someone remind me how puopulo got to Hawthorn

Seeing him play on Sat reminded me how versatile and skilled he is and that he would have been an useful addition to our team
Sorry for intruding but I saw Bickley before the draft at a function. I told him the Crows had to pick up Puopolo. Needless to say they didn't listen.

It is sad, Puopulo, Duigan, Milera, Lower, Sutcliffe, Callinan and we gave up more for phillips then it took to get any of them.

With Moore and Broadbent moving into the middle and maybe Jacobs too, and because our pick wont get us one of the top 3-4 mids, we should think about going tall with our first pick.

Remember there are guys like Sumner and Jolly and decent depth of kids in the draft that we might be able to take later if we want to add to the midfield.

With the new rules am I right in saying that we can sign delisted players like Sumner (and possible Jolly if delisted) as a free agent?

It appears so here.

http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/130820/default.aspx

A player has served seven seasons or fewer of AFL football at one club, and has been delisted by his club.
The player is a free agent and is eligible to field offers from all rival AFL clubs.
The player must decide on the best offer of his choice from one rival club.
The player can move AUTOMATICALLY to the new club of his choice.
His original club, which chose to delist him, does not receive any compensation pick for the loss of the player.
