I think it'd be a bit of a dog act for him to just leave given all the Dons have done to keep get him on the park, so I have a feeling they might be cutting their losses on this one knowing the Daniher is coming in. They'd want to play Bellchambers and Ryder every week with one resting forward, and they have Hurley and Crameri as 'key' forwards. Add in Daniher and you don't have much room for Gumby.
Having said that, I'm not convinced that I want him at Port either.

Yes, with Daniher coming in, it looks awfully crowded up forward. I think they should send Hurley back, but I think they've forced their own hand... you don't offer a 5 year deal to a Centre Half Back, surely.

In today's Crowtiser it says that Port are willing to offer a 4 yr deal to Angus Monfries. You have to be kidding? I would not even take him for 1 yr, he is a hack who is always playing for free kicks. We can't be that stupid in offering a 4 yr deal to a forward pocket player?

Thats too harsh, he is a decent player and all players play for free's I dont think you can put him in the Jetta category!

Monfries is a front running squib who is well known by his nickname from opposition supporters "Wantfrees". He is not as bad as Jetta but he is a very close 2nd. He does not offer anything from an outside run perspective, he is not that quick. We can do far better than that. If Port offer Monfries 4 yrs then it just proves our footballing department has NFI.

His stats aren't great, especially in the last few games of the year, do like his tackling numbers though, something we lack a little in the f50.
However, I thought he was younger than he is, he's gonna be 26 for the start of next year. Probs a little too old for the role we want him to play.

sure, monfries is good enough to make our 22, if 8 of our first 22 are injured at any one time, which lets face it, is fairly likely. still, is this what we strive for? to improve our team 1/400ths at a time?

and monfries plays almost as a medium tall, i dont want that guy getting in shultz and butchers way. what if they run with-

wingard/crumber shultz monfries butcher and ebert in the f50?

im not really sold on what he would bring to that f50. not sold at all, that looks like alot of marking targets and not much else, especially if wingard is further up ground.

I agree. I assume Westhoff isn't going anywhere.

So a forward 6 of Gray, Schulz, Banner, Westhoff, Butcher and Moore would be much better for my liking

to be honest i think ild only want giles if we found a trade for lobbe. there is only so many rucks that wont achieve anything other than average i would want to carry on our list at one time and lobbe/renouf have those spots stitched up. im not even sure about giles really, i reckon he is as good as he is ever going to get, and while thats probably good enough right now its not really good enough, if you get my drift.

Surely, if we've learned ANYTHING over the last 6 months of the season, it's that the Advertiser has NO IDEA about what's going within our club. How on earth would they know the contract length being offered to a player we haven't even said we're interested in? It was only last week they (the media) were trumpeting that he was on his way to the Crows.

This reeks of trying to set up some reasons that Angus would choose Port over the Crows, if that is what eventuates.

What disappoints me with Renouf, he came he under the impression he ain't to smart but he can lift heavy things. But from my perspective I thought he lacked physicality. I was really hoping he would have been much strong in the packs and contest, he needs more mongrel.
