Sumner has a long way to go to get to at least 150 games.

Are you rating the effective value of two players' worth to our list on the basis of the number of AFL games they've played? Surely not. Otherwise, you'd be looking to keep players like Logan over Hartlett, Butcher, Pittard and Wingard.

As for Sumner's issue at Sydney. Pure and simple- homesickness. A young kid removed from his support structure who struggled to adjust.

Other than games played, I can't think of one area of the game where Monfries eclipses Sumner.

Which player would add most to our team next season? I've seen a couple of Eagles games this season and Sumner didn't impress me that much.

But we're not just looking at next season are we? I believe Sumner has greater upside than Monfries plus the fact we could get Sumner for next to nothing. As a FA, Monfries will cost more than I believe he's worth.

We'd have to give Monfries a multi-year sizeable contract where he may well provide us nothing more than the numerous "serviceable" players we already have. High risk imo for a player that, with the emergence of Young and Moore, could end up playing for Sturt.

Sumner would cost us a PSD or late draft pick on minimum contract. Low risk for potential high reward.

Had Monfries played for WWT this season I'd doubt you'd have noticed him much either.

Logans time is up and thats a fair call...EBO would surprise me, I was thinking gone for sure a few months ago but now I would be looking at who we pick up trade week 1st.His attitude and professionalism is an example to a few others on the list maybe....and our forwards are hard done by with the delivery they get though the midfield...I would look for an excuse to keep him on for another year.

A huge NO WAY to Harding. He got selected into State 16's on the back of one game, was selected by GWS because they could afford to burn picks and has one of the worst work ethics and attitudes as well as numerous off-field concerns.

Played U/18's this season as an over age and did zilch.

EDIT: I'd be much more worried about Sumner's "off-field concerns" than Hardings.
