Once K.Tippet announces that he is leaving, can we draft J.Tippet for the lols?

What's the go with Matt Thomas ? Rumours are that Port have offered him a 1 year deal & that Richmond are into him
...
Would like the Lions to make a play for him if he leaves Port.
Straight swap for Rich?

Straight swap for Rich?

Not unless you have good surfie beaches there...Richy loves to surf the waves.

So Thomas is not a favoured son at Alberton Oval ?

Lol Kennedy is better than Hitchcock by a country mile and I don't even mind Hitchcock. If we get a pick somehow in the 10-15 range, Kennedy would be a great get. (or stringer)

I want Kennedy here...is he a top 10 pick?...and if not what are the chances of him slipping to 2nd round? ...is anyone excited about picking him up 1st pick at other clubs?

He's a top ten pick in everything except his height.

Thomas is a whipping boy here but he gets games and sometimes does some good things so I can't see us getting rid of him. If he goes it'll probably be back to Melbourne for a token 30-50 pick.

I read somewhere Melbourne are making a play for Wellingham. Why wouldn't we have a crack at him? Surely the salary cap isn't a issue.

Gee it's funny how you see things as an opposition supporter. The Port games that I watched, he looked like a really good mid. But you guys would know him better than anybody as you see him every week. We have enough players at our club with poor decision making & turning the ball over frequently. We picked one up from Sydney a few years back...Amon Buchanan.

Look at his stats for the year and you'll know why we're not fans of his

I agree he has a frame to add bulk, but he's not as big as Hurn. I'd put him in the Chapman/O'Keefe category. Wouldn't be disappointed to see him end up at Port.

He is not as big as Hurn now, however at the same age its a different story. Hurn was quite defined where as McDonough still carries a little puppy fat.

McDonough is clean and like leg speed/pace you just can't teach it, sure you can improve but when the heat is on, naturally clean conquers all. He is not Bigger, Stronger, Faster than any of the lads he played against, It's rare a 5'11 kid dominates the champs with no outstanding physical qualities .

Look, I agree with you. Would be more than happy to see him end up at Port.

I was more referencing the fact that he compares, height and game style wise, better to Chapman and ROK. Without checking, isn't Hurn a +6footer?

McDonough's skills on both sides and awareness are excellent. He and Toumpas and Sinor (pre-ACL) were the standouts from WWT.

Re: Garlett, heard from a Swan Districts colt who plays with DG that he has a terrible / lazy work ethic. Not sure he is the type of player who would flourish under our current system (referring to the fact that we struggle to develop players properly).

All the talent in the world but doesn't want to work hard. Would much prefer Mayes.

A 35 to 40ish pick and that should get the deal done..we will not be playing hard ball;)

g'day guys.
Today's rumour mill has port apparently interested in reimers. Probably a load of horse, but...
a) can anyone give me an indication as to whether there is any truth in the rumour?
b) what would you see as a decent swap?

I desperately want to keep him, has all the talent in the world, but i'm convinced he needs a change of scenery, badly.

I like the way Thomas tries to play, it's just that he doesn't quite have the speed or the skills too pull it off consistently. The Carlton game, which would be a game that a lot of people saw the highlights of, is not the norm.

Wouldn't bother me if we kept him or not, but we've got a replacement in Young, who is younger and has greater upside.

Haven't heard anything about this.

If there is, I'll cry.

We'll give you a traffic cone for Reimers, but only on the condition that the AFL lets us have an extra spot on our list to accommodate such an average player with such a shit attitude.

I wouldn't even want Port to take Reimers with the last pick in the rookie draft.

hahhah, apparently port, GWS and the dogs have also made inquiries
The worst part is i can pretty much guarantee that if he goes to another AFL club he'll flourish, seems to be par for the course with us.
