It definitely would be safer and trading a ruckman would potentially leave us vulnerable in that area, but we need mids.
We can't go into 2015 with two rucks on the list (if Cox goes) - there just aren't that many good young ruck prospects out there either.

If we were to trade out a ruckman we could pick up Darcy Cameron as depth/developing ruck? I like what I've seen of him this year.

I have for a long time defended Sam Butler.

However after his game tonight, at crucial moments when he continually turned the ball over - I might add he's played over 100 games - he should've played his last game.

Both him and Brennan were the two most insipid players from one of the most awful wins in our clubs history.

On a positive Sheed started well.

From what I have seen of Brennan, he would struggle to perform even in the WAFL.

I agree with you about Butler, he isn't the worst player on the list, but at his age now he is a list clogger who is never going to be anything more than a bit part player when there are injuries, this has to be his last year.

I have been a big critic of Smith, but I actually thought he did ok last night, maybe a forward role is where he needs to play as he makes way too many mistakes as a defender.

It was a poor standard game, but given the outs from both sides, a win is a win I guess.

Not sure where to put this but I heard today from a friend that Simpson is not liked at the club. Glass apparently retired because of Simpson.
He said his sources told him that there may be a few players walking out of the club at years end.
FWIW I thought I would throw that in.
Utter crap
Is "your friend" the one that called a melbourne radio station with the same rubbish?
Glassy wouldnt still be there if that was the case would he ?
footy clubs are places where only those on the turf know what's really going on, the rest dont know shit.

Lucky Luc Smotie realistically if the players want to walk out, so be it. We hired Simpson because we believe in his vision, the players are just the tools and soldiers to get us there. I'm sure we can bring in players that want to be at our club if so.

However all I have heard is the opposite.

It's probably more so that some home truths came out and ego's have been hurt.
