Which would make that scenario unlikely, and Adelaide taking him in the rookie draft instead.

The 2-year deal only applies to new draftees who have never been on an AFL list. Cheney does not fit that definition.

Depends on Draft night if we keep 4 picks then 21 could be Williams if Not then we look at a mature age rookie,
not so much worried now as there are a few Tall ruckmen available with late or rookie spots,

Cheney gets delisted.. mackay doesnt.

Id pick cheney in my side way before mackay.

Don’t get the Cheney decision at all. Would have him ahead of Kelly, Otten. The perfect depth player in my opinion.

Should have traded Kelly for a pick 30-40 or a 2nd/3rd next year.

Kelly was contracted. Perhaps the only club semi-interested in him or the only club he would consider a trade to, was Collingwood.

It's very simple... Kelly had a contract for 2019, Cheney didn't. I can't imagine that there would be too many Crows fans who would prefer Kelly ahead of Cheney. It is what it is.

Then don't you just pay Kelly out? We just moved McGovern on without having anyone come in so it's not like we don't have the cash to do so.

Hopefully he gets a rookie list spot in the draft as I think he can still contribute to our 22.

Yeah and age was against him. Our list is older than we would ideally want. Kelly has seven years on Cheney. Add in Cheney's injury record and I don't see how anyone can make a case for it.

As soon as Douglas, Otten and MacKay were signed then Cheney had to go.
