You are aware we have to delist a minimum of three players from the senior list?
Why should he stay? Is at best a sub par AFL player

I can't see top 4 sides with players such as petterd, lonergan and Stephenson on their list. We need skill and composer. No kick and hope players

Back up isn't good enough to sway me. Think he'll ask for a trade to get more opportunities.Dea can play. He kills VFL. Way too good for that level but he's stuck behind 2 very good players in Houli and Morris who are two of our best players. We've put 4 years development into him and he can play so no point getting rid of him and drafting an untried kid. At AFL he is a good shut down defender but doesn't do enough offensively. Lacks confidence which would come with regular games which he won't get without an injury. Handy back-up.
Btw was being sarcastic with my post.![]()
I think one of griff or Astbury will go. We need quality back up which dea is. NoBack up isn't good enough to sway me. Think he'll ask for a trade to get more opportunities.
Astbury and Griffo might also ask for a trade. Since this years draft doesn't look like a KPP draft we might be able to offer some clubs something.
Why would Astbury and Griffiths ask for a trade? Only reason they haven't played is due to injuries. Griff gets knocked out every second week and Astbury has had a few injuries.Back up isn't good enough to sway me. Think he'll ask for a trade to get more opportunities.

Will put a large price on their head. We're better off backing our kids and saving our money.Nick Dal santo/Adam cooney

Long term i'd much rather take freeman or bontempelli, I think they'll be much better players.Also..Joel Tippett in the PSD? Do we really want Taylor Adams? Personally I think Freeman/Bontempelli would be moer suited to our needs.

Adams is better than freeman IMO. Bontempelli could end up better but I don't think he will be available an he could very well end up a bust.Long term i'd much rather take freeman or bontempelli, I think they'll be much better players.
But Adams will be a consistent high level player that'll offer greater short term success, which is what we need as I see our realistic premiership window as 2014 - 2016.
So would you take Adams over Bontempelli then?Adams is better than freeman IMO. Bontempelli could end up better but I don't think he will be available an he could very well end up a bust.

Adams is shaping up into a J.Selwood statistically, and sounds much safer of the two.
Bontempelli could be Pendlebury or Cale Morton or something entirely different, sounds like a hit or miss.
I called it the veterans list but thats not exactly what i meant (my bad)
What i was trying to say is that we would struggle to delist 4-5 players without cutting players that should still be given another year like helbig,Griffiths,Dea and i believe even though i dont like mcguane he has been serviceable this year and white certainly deserves another year.
Verrier, darrou, stephenson.Lonergan are more expendable and would be / should be delisted rather than the others so we can continue to have the influx of the youth coming through
What McGuane, white, tuck (all will be on less that 150k) also provide is cheap depth regarding cash which we can use to tie up players like Martin,Conca,Ellis,Vlastuin whilst also providing reasonable quality depth
Based on 2013 performances and with the makeup of our side , I believe this would be the best result
Being a veteran only gives a reduction of salary and in no way allows more players on your list. so going on your delistings we would only have 2 senior spots and would need another player to go. If we decide to have an additional player or 2 then we have to reduce our rookie list by 2 to 4 only.
I really cant understand why people are saying we should delist and rookie certain players
Nahas,Dericks - should be certainly moved on
Lonergan,Verrier have not shown enough or the quality to be with us in the future
Stephenson - Really doesnt offer us that much playing 2-3 games a year and is too old (better of developing a 20/21 yo ruck
Darrou - I think he is just a backup 3rd tall thats not really kp height and we certainly have enough of his size
We have the chance to make Jackson,Foley,Newman,Tuck all vets and still draft kids to maintain the quality of youngsters coming through
McGuane - As i mentioned before i have never been a fan but at $100-$150k is worth keeping on the list another year
White - Certainly has earned another year this year and with the amount of vets we have has the chance to get 1 more year atleast and wouldnt be on high $$$ so good for depth and at the right cost
Tuck - This man is a MUST keep for another year , Tuck would be on low money probably $150k or there abouts of which $112,000 is not included in our tpp and not only provides great depth and ball winning ability but costs us nothing in our tpp which enables us to pay more to the likes of Conca,Ellis,Vlastuin etc
We should be looking at the Rookie list with new eyes this year and be smart in keeping good depth players like Tuck,White and McGuane and occupy as much as the vets rule allows us at the same time getting in 4-5 kids that can take us foward
Deledio,McGuane are eligable to be vet status in 2015
