We should re-sign Gresh, Billings, Newnes and Hickey IMMEDIATELY!!!
 
Jeez we have a lot of blokes to sign up, come mid season there might be a few whispers starting to go round if they aren't signed up which could place more pressure on blokes, and if we're pushing for finals I'd rather the players not have to worry about s**t like that

Yikes. A lot of work to do...
 
I haven't been this excited for our list for a very very long time. And I only get excited when I look and realise the group we are bringing in together.

It isn't stacked with high draft picks like early 2000's but the complimentary part is the Bruce's, Membrey's, Roberton's and Weller's that have just exceeded expectations and come cheap. Coupled with Carlisle, an acquisition now I just get (didn't appreciate how hard we went for him). Talls are set, need to play (touch wood Carlisle even plays a game) and midfield needs to grow with some elite talent but dare I say it a couple of Sinclair, Freeman, McKenzie, Lonie and Acres come on - like get great we will be set.

Against popular opinion, love Dunstan some of his work this year was exceptional. Ross broke whatever ceiling I had on him and never have I been impressed by a youngster mid than I have Gresham in his first year.

Midfield still the deficiency but feel like we have 15 or so in the mix that can potentially make it. Usually there's always a few that are written off already.

The depth is going to be phenomenal. I'm a big believer you need the stars, a few champions (we were just the unlucky team we had he champs) to win a flag and still do. My worry is this area but I'm stating to think it's a matter of who it will be that emerges, not if.

I'm guessing we see a few more contact extensions before the season. Hick, Newnes , Billings, Dmac, Sav, Robbo all best22 and White and Sincs not far off.

I heard that he was going to play for Port Melbourne. Can't remember where I heard it though.

Would not be surprised if some get overs this years tied to more modest future payments. Fill out the salary cap this year and make room for ??? next year and beyond. Hope Hickey, Acres, Billings and Dmac get extensions before Christmas.:)
 
Can anyone explain why Jason Holmes is listed as a Rookie on our AFL website.

Did he get downgraded or something?

Speaking of our AFL website - who else reckons it looks really really amateur to have the photos of our new draftees/signings in a different format to the balance of the team!!

Probably because they haven't updated it yet.

They always take ages with the photos and I'm surprised we've even got the temporary ones of new players. Don't think they put the new headshots up last year till early season, ofcourse we had that picture of Gresham photoshopped looking like an oompa loompa
