Why on earth would you place Fyfe the leagues best contested possession midfield machine to the forward line? So someone with less midfield experience and possessions can go into the midfield? I'm absolutely baffled by this suggestion.
Uhhhm that might be because we're very strong in the midfield department. Forward options on the other hand we have virtually none. Have you seen Fyfe take marks before?

Is Hayden Crozier moveable?
Ask the Richmond board, they think Ben Griffiths for Crozier and a 1st round pick. But seriously, if he keeps up the form from the weekend he'll stay, I know that both he and Tommy Sheridan love the club and are progressing well, I wouldn't let him go because he reminds me of Wingard in a lot of ways, obviously no where near chad yet. But he has a great marking ability, great goal awareness and he's really quick.

34 goals 12 behinds from 16 games as a forward is pretty good. Not close to 3 goals a game, but anyway. This was in a different era for forwards.
I don't think he played forward in all those games. You may have a better memory from me, but I thought he only there just over half the season, which is why I estimated 3 goals per game.

If Duff, Morabito and DeBoer are certs to get new contracts (based on praise by RTB), that only leaves 4 players on the main list out of contract McPharlin, Gumbleton, Simpson and Bradley or three if McPharlin is going on.

We might be trading this year! And Simpson chances (other than rookie) are looking grim.

McPharlin - Retire
Gumby - Delist
Keps -Delist (kills me to say it)
Simpson - Delist then ReRookie
Griffen - Trade for a pick upgrade
I don't see us getting rid of both Kep & Gumby in 1 go, but spot on id say.
Menegola has to be delisted or permanently upgraded I think. Been a rookie 3 years.
MDB trade bait?

Duffy enter stage right.
Ballas enter stage left :D

Is Hayden Crozier moveable?

As a smallish forward who can take a mark, he'd be behind Mayne, Neale, Walters & Ballantyne. Contract status?
He is more an inside and outside mid, who can play off the forward flank. His best position is somewhere between forward flank and the wing (and eventually running through the midfield as he has been in the WAFL), but he is not a traditional small forward.

He has taken significant steps this year and has definitely not lost any value since he was drafted and in my opinion has gained value. His WAFL form has been impressive, getting 25-30 possession and getting on the score board.

If he continues his form from last week, he would be very close to untouchable. (3 goals and 13 possessions. )

Could we trade Sylvia out to a club like a lowly Melbourne club or gws?

I would be happy with a last round pick as long as he freed up a space on our list and they covered his salary. Didn't cost us anything and clearly is not the right fit with RTB. Would rather keep our younger guys, who we have put 3-5 years into.

Sylvia - trade
Gumby - retire
Mcpharlin - retire
Keplar - rookie
Simpson - rookie

4 picks + FA or 3 picks + upgrade +FA
Like the Sylvia trade idea. Keplar and Simpson will stay on the senior list or be gawn. I especially think Kep stays if Macca retires. He might only get another year, but it would be silly to lose 2 mature key possy players (if we don't have to) when that is the glaring deficiency on our list.

That's when he does this

Now I miss Walters even more.........sniff :(

I hope he is back either this week or next. Just a damn talented footy player who has (IMHO) the best vision in setting up play in the Freo lineup. His kicks are superb and almost always to the advantage of our players..... I miss Walters.

A full pre season into both Mora and Sylvia and we may be able to move Fyfe forward.
I agree although not full time. Plus we have a pretty decent list of young mids who are ready now.

Fyfe is playing as a forward with the benefit of it being a shock tactic. If it was a permanent basis then the opposition will make it more difficult for him. I prefer the idea of developing midfield options who can rotate forward such as Morabito, Sylvia and Crozier.

Really hoping Apeness develops rapidly.

Crozier is a MUST keep. He has more class and speed than most our side, was a 1st round draft pick and is developing nicely. Ross won't play kids unless they are deserving and sometimes when you don't see them at AFL level, it's easy to lower their worth; but on the weekend Crozier showed us he is progressing nicely and has a huge future.

OK, but based on this year, which team in its right mind would trade for Colin Sylvia?

Agree with Kep but not with Sylvia trade, we'd be lucky to get a meat tray for him based on his performance this year.

Yeah, that was a tongue in cheek comment. Hopefully though, he wakes up and has a good summer. He's got the talent, if he puts in the work over summer he could be a real success story. Not holding my breath though.

Yep, bit of a reality check for Col this year, he thought he could do the bare minimum and cruise the season like he did at Melb.

i was very much in favour of colin before but now it looks like this year he is going offer us nothing, i hope to be proven wrong. with another preseason into Duffy, Crozier and others is there really a need for him. Considering we traded nothing for him, his wage is the only factor to consider.

On the positive side, after we win the premiership this year we will have a hungry Morabito, Syliva, Sheridan plus maybe Crozier to work hard in the preseason to find a spot in our 22.

Our midfield next year will be even stronger, we just need 1 more KPF.
