Why on earth would you place Fyfe the leagues best contested possession midfield machine to the forward line? So someone with less midfield experience and possessions can go into the midfield? I'm absolutely baffled by this suggestion.
I absolutely agree. We may be strong in the midfield but Fyfe has the ability to manufacture 3/4 clean centre breaks per game simply by his own strength and skill. Sure, rest him forward, as we do, but he is just too damaging in the centre square to move him predominantly forward.

Great to see all the love for Crozier. Hopefully he keeps it up & cements his spot in the team.

So... can we just hand Sylvia back to Melbourne. Tell them we made a mistake & we don't want him anymore? Like... is there a returns policy?

Question is, did Freo keep the receipt?

I think i would cry. Griffiths for Crozier not this side of the end of days for mine.
You can have Suban or MDB for Griffiths. Heck i would consider both for him plus a picks swap.
Suban and De boer ? Why? both are proven performers whilst Griffiths has kicked a total of 12 goals in 30 games.

supporters are expecting whoever gets Griffiths to sell the farm for him, we won't be giving away much for a bloke who's proved nothing in 5 years In the AFL.
Agreed. I would be ok with our second rounder though especially if both kep and luke are gawn at seasons end. I think smith is in more danger than kep of going as hes almost been a permanent fixture on the injury list since getting drafted.

We won the clearances 48-26 on the weekend, but lost the game.

What's the point of winning a clearance if you kick it to forwards who can't compete?

It wouldn't be as if we were not competitive from the middle if Fyfe went forward, but our forward line would be seriously bolstered.

Not all clearances are alike. Several of the clean breaks we generated in the last half of that game were due directly to Fyfe. He is our best midfielder, with Mundy not quite in top form, at generating clean, quick centre breaks. This type of clearance leads to a score significantly more often, even with our forward line. The Carlton game was a great example of this - dead even on the clearances but they smashed us early on with Judd giving them clean, quick ball forward from the middle.

Fyfe can run through a clearance at full pace and pick it up one handed, barge through a couple of tackles and get it forward.
The only one who comes close is Mundy and I don't think even he can pick it up so clean the way Fyfe does.
