Disappointed in you last night Rick for all the talk of getting ruthless I heard garbage about signing Boomer Harvey for a year.. perplexed
Boomer Harvey is the opposite of Westhoff.

Boomer is a professional football who executes under pressure and has delivered for 21 seasons. We are void a small forward and we need some spine and leadership in this side that is mentally weak. If Boomer would come to us for a season and then take a coaching role it would only benefit our players.

Just may be professional with his physical preparation but he's the opposite. He's mentally fragile under pressure and he is way to inconsistent with his impact on games and output.

I hope that clears up your perplexion :)

I wasn't relating it to Westhoff just the whole idea of being "ruthless" does not contain signing 40 year olds for a year it's diabolical thinking.

Can someone please sing the praises to me of why we should keep Justin outside he's a nice guy and has an awesome beard!
It's simple.
He's 30 his value isn't exactly worth trading out for.
He's currently easily in our 22
He's currently our second of 3 key forward's not on our long term injury list. With Butcher (the third) likely gone
He's not being payed a lot
He can play a variety of positions.
He's a better footballer than Kersten, Towers, Mayne, Schoenmakers, Darling, Waite, SReid. Who are all currently third tall in a top 4 team or have played in grand final side as a third tall.
He's got 3 years left in him.
We couldn't possibly pick up a kid to replace him with the pick 30-40 odd we get back.

Have you considered he's been part of our group since 2007. A period where we haven't really done much. Potentially he's part of the problem?

Recruiting Boomer, why isn't that ruthless? Who cares what the age is as long as the strategy is right?

Mature recruits have filled a spot in other teams, I'd prefer to look at all options and if non fits his type so be it. He would add more value than Neade would! He would add more leadership than most of lads playing out there. We need a consistent small forward and a natural leader, he looks to fit that bill.

The time that Logan Austin sold candy to him twice in one play I realised Boomer was finished.

Recruiting him at 38 would be single handedly the worst recruiting decision the club has made in 20 years.

so has Jay Schulz and Alipate Carlile, but they haven't been pushed out the door on this board for the same reasons have they?

Somewhat inconsistent but never mentally weak. Also have battled far more with injury than Hoff ever will.

Can we upgrade a rookie for Howard next year? If we can, keep both snelling and krack on the rookie list and upgrade the one most determined for the single list spot.

Lobbe is a depth ruck. He doesn't want to leave (i think) and we should only encourage him to go if we are offered a good player or a first rounder. We would most likely get a pick 35 or so for him and would then have to acquire a another depth ruck. What is the point?

Carlile is contracted for next year unfortunately. Will be Depth

Schulz has been delisted and Butcher will be to. This leaves us with Howard, Westhoff and Dixon. Howard will go nowhere near it next season, so WE must keep Westhoff (unless we receive a godfather offer) as we have no depth. Hopefully Hoff can play more as a forward with Bonner developing and Hombsch returning, instead of playing as a loose. This means we MUST acquire another key forward, best circumstance to be in our best 22, but mostly for depth, especially if Hoff or Dixon get injured. Someone like Schoenmakers or Vickery (we may have to unfortunately pay overs) would suit us.

Our depth for talls and rucks isn't great and if we are to be contending next year, this must be improved. Depth has constantly let us down through 2015/16.

How do you define mentally weak ?
* Missing goals ?
* Appears laconic on the field ?

I'm just trying to ascertain what makes Justin more or less mentally weak than any other player on our list.
