They did it to try and get another flag in the short term

If they still thought Reid was going to be a good player they wouldn't of ripped nearly 2 million out of a 9million dollar salary cap for 2 tall forwards

Even though Buddy is on a 9 year deal they see Sam Reid as the future he can play both ends of the ground as well

TAC Cup Future Stars have Hint at that we are in the Hunt for Mason the Big 211cm Ruckman from America:thumbsu:

Worth a punt, there are so many guys in the USA who athletically would put Natanui to shame while being even taller... if we can work out systems to regularly develop them then look out because the flood gates may open. I'd bet most of them would do anything to get a gig in professional sport after just missing out on the NBA/NFL

What did they say?

I like the numbers around this bloke, and we do have room for a reserve level ruck prospect.

Be at the Club Next week for a Trial

nice, would be a great investment for a 3-5 year development project.

I think it’s Basketball but not sure
I'd almost go as far as saying that unless they come from a basketball or soccer background, it may not be worth looking at them. My gut feel is that players from other sports will take too long to develop.

How about Callum Sinclair from West Coast?

Was on Pies VFL List in 2009

Hard to see West Coast giving Sinclair up.

Cox won't be around forever and Naitanui has struggled with injuries these past couple of seasons and with Lycett and Sinclair the only other options to maintain a reasonable depth situation I see West Coast retaining the lot of them.

Well Just Throwing an Idea up. Guess it would cost too much for him IF he wanted to leave

I don't think too many rucks will be banging down our door in the trade period. The gig will entail playing VFL all year & being under study to Grundy & Witts. Wont offer a lot of opportunities. A rookie or a VFL ruckman may be the only option next year.

I still think if possible we should retain Lynch or Hudson. Hudson most likely done, but Lynch could provide adequate back up and help Moore develop in the VFL (if we take him, I suspect if we don't we will have another 1st round tall anyway). The only time Lynch will come in is if both Grundy and Witts are injured

Is coming to aus to test with 4 clubs this week Collingwood being 1 of the 4.

It's interesting that they aren't looking at people 6'2 to 6'6 range mainly ruckman 200-211cm mark.

I think you will find some amazingly good power athletes with excellent agility, sprint and vert leap a bit shorter who may be able to come over and impact the midfield or up forward as a leading fwd.

At the moment they are being very short sighted in the target recruiting of giants imo.
