Still developingHard pass
Watched him play us in round 1 and then the subsequent few matches, he looked way out of his depth
Better option than Rosas who is developed

I wouldn't be surprised if we are going after Keeler to help get NWM.Is Jase Burgoyne still out of contract?
Saints should be throwing the kitchen sink at him to keep Nas, if he is.

Half their team lives at henley beach and its a few screw punts away from the Port and their fans don't have the first clue about that area...goldPort supporter took Ben Williams meeting us at the Henley Beach cafe as serious
2022 will piss me off forever, absolute highway robbery to allow Port to get JHF for next to nothing. What timeframe are you looking at? As far as I can tell, they've only had 2 top 10 picks in the last 10 years.
They've really only been awful since 2022, which is the last 3 drafts. Prior to that they were consistent finalists, winning the flag in 2018.
2024 (16th)
Traded pick #3 to Carlton, as part of the Liam Baker & Matthew Owies trade. West Coast also ended up with pick #12 as part of the trade, so they moved out of the top-10 but not out of the 1st round.
2023 (18th)
Pick #1 - Harley Reid
2022 (17th)
Pick #9 - Reuben Ginbey, Pick #14 - Elijah Hewett
This was the result of a big pick swap involving Port, Norf & GWS. The Weagles traded out pick #2, trading in picks #8 and #12 and some later picks.
2021 (9th)
Pick #14 - Campbell Chesser
They did a pick swap with Port, trading out pick #12 for pick #14 and a 2nd round pick. No top-10 picks involved this year.
2020 (5th)
1st Round pick traded out as part of the Tim Kelly trade in 2019.
2019 (5th)
Pick #14 traded to Geelong for Tim Kelly. No top-10 picks involved this year.
2018 (1st)
No top-10 picks involved. Not sure what happened
2017 (6th)
Pick #13 - Jarrod Brander. No top-10 picks involved this year.
2016 (7th)
Pick #13 - Daniel Venables. No top-10 picks involved this year.
2015 (2nd)
No top-10 picks involved.
Meh. We were never going to get him once we didn't get the trade done with North.2022 will piss me off forever, absolute highway robbery to allow Port to get JHF for next to nothing.
Not about us getting him, it's about Port paying 3/5ths of FA for him and Rioli.Meh. We were never going to get him once we didn't get the trade done with North.
Would I want him? Absolutely. Am I convinced he becomes a Dangerfield clone?
Not sure. Don't think he has the drive Danger had.
That's on the other club for caving. Not about us getting him, it's about Port paying 3/5ths of FA for him and Rioli.
I beg the differ, they stake it out regularlyHalf their team lives at henley beach and its a few screw punts away from the Port and their fans don't have the first clue about that area...gold
Rosas has been playing midfield at VFL level this season which seems odd?Still developing

So you're telling me there's a chanceC4 posted NWM preference is to come home but likely to sign a 2 year deal at Saints
The Saints were one of the clubs actively chasing Dan Curtin - I suspect they were hoping to lure him in and then involve him into a potential trade deal.So trying to read the tea leaves:
- NWM wants to come home
- the contract (at least with us) will be the best on offer (with Saints said to be willing to match). Doubt Port are offering chump change either
- don’t think hanging around for two more years puts much more on his contract given the terms purportedly being offered
- Saints aren’t winning anything in the next two years
So why stay? Because he doesn’t think his preferred club can get the trade done.
With Bergman re-signing and Butters saying he isn’t leaving this year, Port have little currency and would struggle to get the deal done.
Adelaide has some currency - but would have to work to find more. I think we could do it but need to wear some pain.
Pessimistic conclusion - he’s not interested in Adelaide. If he was, he would come now.
He is interested in Port, but they can’t get a deal done, so he stays for two more years and hopes they’ll be in a better position to trade.
Are you seeing any chance he might come to the Crows? The Saints were one of the clubs actively chasing Dan Curtin - I suspect they were hoping to lure him in and then involve him into a potential trade deal.
Full transparency - my intel on this is coming from club side, not the player’s agent, so I’m not totally across what he’s thinking or what the preferences are in terms of club (I’m only reading the tea leaves like everyone else on that). Are you seeing any chance he might come to the Crows?
If Saints were after Curtin, that would mean NWM have told them that he's fine with the Crows

Not trying to sit on the fence, but the fact the clubs are still in talks this late suggests there’s at least a flicker of hope something could happen.
