I think the messaging was all over the shop.
Oliver was mooted a long way out. Whether I agree he would have been the right fit the message seemed to be 'one short '
Our swivel to Petracca confirmed that.
Our interest in Steele etc also felt the club recognised we were one short
Only to fall back on organic growth
That provides its own issues with Nicks clearly not a farmer
I think the honest answer is they looked at the options they liked and realised they were gonna cost too much.
If we’re in to Bailey we don’t want to spend all our cash and picks too early.
It means we probably will struggle again in finals, but if we’re planning for the long haul then we can’t afford to do another Gibbs trade.
Obviously though that line doesn’t really sell well so “organic growth” it is.
