We started Rachele as the sub because he'd had the flu the week before and hadnt played in over 2 months.

You can certainly argue that it was the wrong call (IMO it probably was), but thats not really a system decision. Its one based on the probability of him getting through half a game.

Reckon it was the right decision. His performance is the evidence. No different to Neale in the GF. No point having them blow up in the first half being flat out just keeping up.

We have to for the mandatory 3 picks. McAndrew is contracted to end of 2027 so he seems the likely one. Giving us one spot for Ah Chee and two rookie spots

We will be upgrading a rookie today (probably McAndrew), to satisfy the AFL's mandatory 3x ND selections. Then we will select Ah Chee in the PSD. That will fill our senior list.

However, the rookie upgrade will leave us with 2x vacancies on the rookie list. We will be re-drafting Welsh, which fills one vacancy.

Given that we passed with our last selection in the ND, we obviously don't rate the remaining talent in the draft pool. My guess is that we'll pass with our remaining pick in the RD, leaving the vacancy open for filling either in the PSSP (more likely) or later in the MSD (less likely).

With the option now for a SSP or MSD pick, all those fans who have been upset the last few years we haven’t taken a player there like Josh Carmichael, Quinten Narkle or Caleb Poulter due to "poor list management" should be happy

What are port doing to satisfy this? I have not read about them upgrading rookies although it seems they need to upgrade 3 of them having taken no picks in the ND

They might just upgrade the blokes they took in the MSD.
