its a ridiculous notion. Adding Merrett to the side would be a daft attempt to buy a premiership with a coach who is too scared to take risks. It wont happen and would be a missed opportunity to plug holes in the list.

He'd be a good get.

JHF has all the tools to be the best player in the game is 22.
Dawson is close to being 30.
Rankine is a half forward who can play stints in the middle.

I know who I'd be choosing.

absolute massive failure by essendon not to trade him last year, let emotions get in the way instead of doing whats best for their club.

But if the other team doesn’t adopt that same strategy then you’re at a disadvantage. It’s not really an extra player on the bench if both teams have it

yep, and mainly lions wont be in the same ballpark with salary. wasnt it rumoured 5-5.5m over 5 years
