So your solution for a player that is not durable is to bring in a ….player that is not durable?Costs nothing and potential pay off is huge

Has a lengthy contract but if he's struggling to make their 22 coming off his ACL they'd maybe look to offloadIs Ballard an option?
Nik Cox ?? Lol
Can't leave his house without getting injured.
You got what you hoped for. Thanks for the responses guys. Best of luck for tonight and beyond - have enjoyed watching this team this season so hopefully the showdown doesn't disappoint!
Jack Bowes deal style thanks.Has a lengthy contract but if he's struggling to make their 22 coming off his ACL they'd maybe look to offload
I think we put a pen through Butts long term , his body is just not durable
A few options
Nick Cox (Essendon )
Highly rated but Essendon can’t get him in the park consistently
Cal Wilkie
Throw a huge offer and force him out of St.Kilda
Will McCabe
Also one to throw a decent contract at
Other positions where we can add depth
Dodson another
Walker retiring , Maley isn’t the answer Max Gruzewski worth enquiring about
And not that he’d leave Vic with plenty of suitors but George Wardlaw
Luckily Ludowyke does look good.I was interested to see Brisbane giving a debut to Cody Curtin, Dan's 18-year-old brother. There was talk we were interested and maybe we would have taken him over Ludowyke at Pick 50 ,but even if we had I don't think he'd have been filling in for FOG by Round 8.
Brisbane seem to debut their kids a lot sooner than we do, including their big blokes, Logan Morris, also debuted as an 18 and Ty Gallup (19) being recent examples.
In the last five years Wilmot, Lohmann, Tunstill, W. Ashcroft, Fletcher, L Ashcroft and Sam Marshall have all debuted before turning 20 and have a combined 421 games. Now there's some top level talent there but we have Dowling, Edwards, Ryan, Draper, Welsh, Marsh and Ludo in the same period with 22 games between them and little likelihood they will add substantially to that this year.
Of course it's possible Brisbane select better, develop better, and are way less conservative at selection?

Id love he or Marsh to get a run this week.Luckily Ludowyke does look good.
Brisbane can probably afford to because the rest of their side is filled with A grade talent.
We don't have that luxury.
Ludo played on Noah Balta for the VFL Academy so he has some experience!Id love he or Marsh to get a run this week.
What other warm bodied talls did they have available apart from Forward/Ruck Cody Curtin?I was interested to see Brisbane giving a debut to Cody Curtin, Dan's 18-year-old brother. Gallop could have gone forward and they had two ruckmen that could have interchanged forward. Zakostelsky has had three games this year and could pinch hit forward and back and Will McLachlan played six games as a forward last year (three as the sub) and is 21.What other warm bodied talls did they have available apart from Forward/Ruck Cody Curtin?
Oscar Allen, Eric Hipwood, Darcy Gardiner, Jack Payne all on the injury list, Forward/Ruck Henry Smith TBC.
Only other talls they had available were defender/ruck Zane Zakostelsky and 193cm.Luke Lloyd drafted as a forward but being developed as a defender via the VFL.
Probably also fair to say Cody one of the few first year players who could genuinely be considered well built enough to take the field at AFL levelWhat other warm bodied talls did they have available apart from Forward/Ruck Cody Curtin?

We're going to find out this week, with Tex & Fog both MIA due to injury.Gallop could have gone forward and they had two ruckmen that could have interchanged forward. Zakostelsky has had three games this year and could pinch hit forward and back and Will McLachlan played six games as a forward last year (three as the sub) and is 21.
But, Curtin wasn't a break glass emergency, Fagan said he would have debuted in Round Zero if he hadn't been injured in the practice match before.
The Lions obviously chose Curtin because they thought he was their best option and up to the job. My point is more, would we have done the same?
My money is on Maley coming backWe're going to find out this week, with Tex & Fog both MIA due to injury.
McLachlan isn't a tall forward, he's a medium forward.Gallop could have gone forward and they had two ruckmen that could have interchanged forward. Fagan said that before Round Zero. Cody wasn't a desperate selection.McLachlan isn't a tall forward, he's a medium forward.
I'd say if we were in the same predicament as Brisbane Tyler Welsh would likely get a debut game.
And I wouldn't put much faith in what Chris Fagan said, he's hardly going to say we're playing Cody because our tall forward cupboard is bare.
