Gee I'd kill for somebody like Andrew Gaff in our squad.
Any hard running, penetrating kick, good spreading players up there for trade bait?

I don't care if they can't win their own ball or earn 95% of their disposals through handball receives. Our team is too slow and we need players who can run, carry and spread.

lets enjoy the present even though it's painful. I really want our development to speed up to 2015 but we have to get through the bumpy ride.

like every year for the past few years, we need both a classy mid and a KPF. Moreover our team KE is just terrible, can't hit a target by foot! So frustrating.

Silky, fast midfielder has to be #1 priority, even over Boyd. IMO.

With Thomas a close #2
Boyd could very well another Wayne Carey if he hits his potential. And it's not like we have 8 KPF waiting on the wings. We have Jones, Cordy (could be a ruckman) and Fletcher Roberts (might not make it AND can also be an defender). We do need another KPF and Boyd is perfect.

Obviously we won't finish last, so he's out of the options.

Why is it obvious we won't finish last?

He very well could be, he could also be a Jarrad Grant/Tim Walsh/Countless other failed highly rated draft picks. I just think that some polish and speed in the midfield is a bigger concern.

Jones will be our KPF for the next 10 years no doubt about it and Stringer looking very likely to be along side him. As good as Boyd might be I would rather build a forward line around Jones, Stringer and Cordy/Roberts and add Aish to the midfield (if we had the choice out of Aish/Boyd which is obviously very unlikely) IMO.

I think its pretty obvious we wont. This board is so bipolar, we have a good performance one week and everyone is all "Maybe we will finish higher than expected" and "Can't wait to see us in a few years" and just go on about how good our young players are, etc, then a week later after a bad loss everyone is acting like its the end of the world, blah blah blah. We have to just be ******* patient, I know it sucks but we will have our good games and we will have our bad games.

I dare not look at facebook, wouldn't surprise me if there are posts complaining about picking up "another injury prone 1st round waste in Stringer" ;)
I prefer the journalist asking Macca the question
'So when do you think Stringer is going to start impacting games?'
For Christ sakes, its his third AFL game

Don't have to be the worst team to finish last. Melbourne play Gws twice and the suns twice, so if they beat us once they will definitely be higher. Gws looked ok against ess and will pull out a win two. Bris are ahead of us already. Our draw is a lot harder than anybody else's.

Fair comment about the draw... Not sure Melbourne will beat GCS or GWS the second time around...

Funny how a few weeks ago I said we could finish last, and got bagged for it.

Not anymore, it seems....

We play Melbourne last round. Hopefully will have enough fit players to finish them off. If they tank this year AFL needs to throw the book at them. Reckon Gws and suns will be very competitive by seasons end.

Based upon last year, Suns improved a bit towards the end of the year, but faded out around the middle of the season. I'd expect GWS to do similar things. GWS would be doomed if Ward/Cameron were to go down with an injury...

Wow, I can't wait for that game. It will be verrrrry interesting to watch, from selection day right to the final siren (and even the team song, whoever wins).

I think I know who will win it too...

Doggies, why is it being impatient to suggest we might finish last?
