Jade Rawlings.....hehe :p

And that didn't go down too well as much as he pretended to be happy.
Beat me to it!!

Luke Ball not getting drafted until Pick 27 or so is another example of teams not drafting players who don't want to play for them. Everyone learned from the Jade experience.....

Also Ben Jacobs. Clubs were prepared to offer higher picks than they had the opportunity to use, but once he said he only wanted to go to North, nobody was prepared to use those picks in the actual draft to secure him.

That said, I don't think we'll get White that way. I'm a fan of what White's done this year but I don't think we should be going after him either. I don't think Grant, Jones and White will work at all.

Surely your joking? Leads up the ground well and takes good contested marks. He is 5th in contested marks at the moment too. Need guys like Jones taking big marks on a wing/CHF. If anything - keep him away from FF as he is a pretty average set shot.
Jones is a better set shot than field kick I haven't checked the stats but I reckon they'll back that up. Jones very rarely takes a lead up mark in his hands on the lead which the most important thing for a centre half forward to do. Playing as a deep forward gives you a much better chance to take contested marks as there's less places for the ball to be delivered. Name one centre half forward that has no endurance like Jones has.

He's actually quite a beast now, has put on heaps of size, and he's obviously got great speed and agility for a big man, just needs to work extremely hard on his tank over the preseason and we have a very good player on our hands

Clubs don't draft players who want to go elsewhere. It's almost never done, and I've never heard of it going down well. Give an example, if you will.
I think you're missing the context of that post in that Watts won't want to come to us. He's almost definitely going to either stay or go to a club in the top 8 or finals contention. He's too similar to every other forward we have. When I say that, I mean he doesn't compliment what we already have.

Needs to keep working on his hands, dexterity, co-ordination and forward craft as well. I love him, but he has a lot to work on. He still runs under the ball too much, doesn't find enough space (part endurance, part poor/slow delivery, part lack of know-how) and stresses with the footy (how he butchered that opportunity in the goal-square on the weekend ill never know). Going well overall though. Big improver this year.

Seems as if everyone has given up on Cordy as a FF or all together?
No not from my end, but i think he wont come good as FF, ruck or orange boy for another 2 years at least. He comes across as a late bloomer to me. We need a more permanent FF, clear cut in his role. Cordy could well be that extra stake, repeater crossbow cartridge or vial of Obsession, that rounds out the arsenal of a witch hunter.

Would love a few more KG's on the boy - because at his height and with his athleticism - he will be hard to stop if he can get stronger. Can clearly take a mark.

Does need a few more KG's but more importantly this summer is to add to his core strength as he gets unbalanced in marking contests

Cordy still has a big future IMO, just needs to string some games together at VFL level. I don't think he will become a best 22 player till 2015. Just needs to develop.

Would it kill us to draft one or two mature KPF rookies from the state leagues? Like a Thorpe? There are a few rookies on our list that just arent showing rapid enough improvement, or offer us nothing but inside mid depth that we really dont need.

Turn those guys over and give someone else a chance to fill a spot we really need someone to fill. If McCartney is any kind of list manager, this has to happen, surely?
