Not sure about King. Part of me thinks he comes across as an ok guy, but the paralysis by analysis and buzzwords coming out of his mouth make me cringe a bit.
At least he gives the impression that he does his research and isn't one of the 'I didn't see the game, but I'll tell you my opinion anyway' types.

King is one of the few whose info is usually pretty spot on. People laughed at his rumour last year that we were putting together a $1.2m offer for Taylor Walker (or another big name key forward) but his info was 100% correct. We were indeed prepared to throw that money at Walker, or a Hawkins.
He is one of the best on there by a long way. Just wait though some media knob will claim how would he know about his brothers intentions or something.
However, the Demons are not considered a _______________________
a) Likely destination
b) Possible destination
c) Serious football club
d) Football club
e) All of the above
If it is true that he's been offered 700 odd over 5 years and he turns it down it would be pretty significant. He could potentially be kissing goodbye half a mill or more.
Turning down that cash demonstrates real character.... and balls.
With the talk about Hammer and Wingard both being in contract negotiations 12 months out, it sounds like the club is trying to tie up all our major players before next season even starts. I reckon they want as little distraction as possible next year and just want a head-down bum-up, concentrate on winning games approach.
I thought about signing up for Twatter....then I read that line by 'Timmy' and realised I would probably gouge my eyes out if I had to read people typing in that way regularly.

The Port Adelaide way has generally been recently to get the deals done before the start of the season. Based on recent trends in the AFL, if a player hasn't signed a deal by mid way through the season and is uncontracted for the season following, they are unlikely to stay at that club. Of course, Schulz is an exception (and a fortunate one at that!) to the rule. Wines, Wingard and Hartlett are all big names coming off contract at the end of 2016. Get them signed early, don't let the media kick up a storm like we have seen at West Lakes over the past 2 years with Walker, Sloane and Dangerfield.

That's been my read on Wingard, Wines and Hartlett for a long time now. I'm certain Wingard has already either signed or committed long term to the club. Seen a poster on here in the Wingard thread say he's already signed a new deal, take that with a grain of salt for now no offence to the poster but it is big footy after all. Wingard's contract is never mentioned in Melbourne footy media about our out of contract stars, the Adevertiser ran the article that Chad will have a extension likely announced at the B&F and now the Hartlett talk that he is about to commit long term as well. Haven't heard anything about Ollie yet but seems we may have all 3 signed up before 2016 which is what we all want.

Wouldn't be surprised if they put news of signings off for a while, possibly until around Christmas like a few years ago.
Any news in the next few days will be drowned out by the Dangerfield saga, then after that by trade period.
Once that's all died out, they'll likely put some releases out about signings etc. to keep us keen over the Christmas break.
This in a nutshell really, thought the same about the Schulz/Freo deal that gained momentum when our interest in Dixon became public, it's common practice for rival clubs to inflate the figures of the 2nd tier stars so they can plan future raids on the cream of the crop.
Harts will get what he deserves financially & in turn be involved in what should be some sustained success along the way, I think Harts & Wingard will sign on in the near future but if we can get all 3 of HH, Chad & Ollie stitched up before next season we'd be laughing for the long term.
