So Hartlett has been offered stupid money by Richmond, wouldn't blame him going. Especially if we trade some decent picks.
Tredrea said 750k over 5 years and 700k with North for 6 years.

He's not worth anywhere near that.

Just heard that. Would be devastating but couldn't begrudge the kid for leaving. Would be irresponsible for PAFC to go anywhere near matching that.

Absolutely, that's a cut your losses and move on type of thing.

Would open up space for a different need though.

Is he a RFA next year? If so, we are well advised if he is going to go, to trade him this year, otherwise we risk getting diddly for him. Lets just hope he is willing to stay for less.

We won't trade Hartlett. He's a contracted player and I refuse to believe guys like KT and Hinkley would jump at shadows in fear of his impending free agency next year.

If we traded him this year it would be for premiership push, not fear.
How would getting rid of Hartlett help any premiership push? He would be traded for draft picks.

The teams reported to be interested would all consider themselves in premiership windows and won't be handing back players in return.

How do you think we will pay for Dixon? Draft picks. This way we would keep good ones.

When you have draft picks you can talk to every club, not just the one trying to poach your contracted player - and because the player is contracted your worst case scenario is you keep them...incentivises other clubs to work with you.

The above does not constitute endorsement for the trading of Hamish Hartlett. Portia recommends that you consult an accredited list manager when determining your football future.

Hartlett to Richmond for their first and second round picks. Trade Richmond's first, our second and Richmond's second to Gold Coast for Dixon and Bennell, and draft Curnow/Matthieson/Ah Chee with Pick 10.

So Hartlett and our second round pick for Dixon and Bennell, plus we keep our first round pick.
