Thanks lonie ... saved it to my stats & info archives. One query. Clinton Young played the last 7 of '05 games and no stats ... although I have them from other sources. But again thanks a lot of work, much appreciated.
********, thanks for spotting it out...as you can see I write his debut but because it was vacant i forgot to add the Career and 2005 Stats...will be updated immediately.

Thanks for the list; it's terrific.

I'm interested in your rating points. How do you weight the ratings and how did you determine to rate them that way (I'm a bit of a stats fan myself, though I don't rate the footy any more).

Using Champion Data's stats provided in the Herald Sun, i use a statistical formula, so their isn't that much weighing the stats, ie. Ranking Pts and Impact Rating is hard to use for defenders.

Clanger = -4
Free Ag = -3
Free For, Behind, Hitout = 1
Kick, Handball, Mark, Inside 50, Clearance = 3
Tackle = 4
Goal = 10

Spoils may be introduced next season, but aren't official as they are from prowess, and would also be time consuming.

It is completely different to the way CD get their points, as there's is more on quality and tactical stats, than quantity...but it does give some sort of indication to performances, especially midfielder's and forward's.

No surprise that Mitchell, Hodge, Everitt and Crawford are head and shoulders ahead of the rest on that list.

Very promising stats for Lewis first up too, easily the best of the younguns.

Fair enough formula, Lonie. But maybe game time should be considered as a factor. A player can be listed in stats as getting a game but if he is warming the bench for most of it he is not going to be amongst those stats and he will rate little ... and the reason why he may not be on the paddock is conditions don't suit him, eg: Game starts in fine sunny conditions but it could be piddling down for the second half resulting in a certain type of player not getting back on the paddock for the remainder. On second thoughts maybe I'm too pedantic in looking at in this way as most games the same level of conditions generally prevail throughout a game. Oh!! I'm forgetting good ole Melbourne can have four seasons in a day :D .

That's what the impact rating is there for. The impact rating is the stat that takes TOG into consideration. It is Ranking Points/TOG and a score at 100 is what you are aiming at, while a score around 90 is a good score...i guess what you can compare it with is a strike rate in cricket.

I see! Thanks Lonie for the explanation I get the gist of it now .. all scientifically measured.
