Lithuania will win the 2008 olympics.
A lot of people will disagree but lithuaina has plenty of talent to match it with the dream team and if they play lithuania will walk all over them.

Didn't show too much of that talent when the Boomer r*ped them the other night....what was it...31 points?

^ they didn't even need to win that game, and were only playing their 2nd-tier players anyway.

if Kleiza continues his run, then they're good for gold.

Yep, plenty of talent (and this was not represented when they played Australia) but no and NO.

No they will not match it with the Team USA and no they will not win the Gold medal in men’s basketball. .

Gone. I used to like Lithuania but after reading some comments from Lithuanian fans about saying how good they were and they "weren't trying" against the Boomers I lost all respect for them. I hope they get flogged by the argy's for the bronze and go home empty handed.

It's amazing that such a small country is always competitive and always in for a solid medal chance. A real credit to their basketball program. Jasikevičius (had to wikepida it) has always been great to watch.

Well you do have ask the question if they were trying against the Boomers... I pretty sure that they tanked...

Wouldn't be surprised if the local mafia there bet on the Boomers in that game, the Lithuanians were odds on favourites to win that one (around the 1.20 mark). They had no incentive to win regardless, which explains their unusually limp performance.

They're usually a pretty solid unit, gold medal chance against the US though? I guess if they can push the Spaniards they are some sort of show, maybe cutting it to a respectable 10-15 point margin or so.
