Gawd I hope Australia doesn't follow the American example of being able to 'sue' over every little thing.

Now I hold very little, if any, regard for Tommy Lee. Can't stand the bloke. BUT...This sort of lawsuit is a big money grabbing responsibility-cop-out in my opinion.

How the hell can you sue someone for not providing adequate supervision for your child in a pool at a party that you are present at? That is the responsibility of the childs own bloody parent!

Kids birthday party, plenty of people around, kids, adults, staff etc etc, your kid goes in the water. It is you, as the parent, who is responsible for that kid. That is all part of being a parent. You are responsible for your childs well being.

And they want a million bucks plus medical and funeral expenses?

How about parents actually take responsibility for their own kids, and their own actions in relation to their kids, instead of always looking for someone else to blame.

Rocker sued over boys death - from news.com.au

yer exactly, its your kid so u should be responsible for it.

how pathetic. their kid dies and all they can see is the dollar signs.

neway i think australia is going the was of the US, we're the second most likely country to sue i think.

It's so sad that few people are taking responsibility for their own actions these days. I mean we have the rising insurance costs for just about everything as everyone is afraid of people suing at the drop of a hat, as it's always someone else and never you. Suing over inadequate protection, a lack of care, or some other rubbish.

There have been two recent court decisions that have over ruled a previous decision for councils to pay two drunk guys who broke thier necks diving into water. One was in Sydney one was on the sunshine/gold? coast. Maybe our courts are turning in the right direction.
