Averaging 20+ disposals in the midfield at U18 and an AA. Yer he probably should have been a first round pick. I'm blown away someone wouldnt give him the chance to knuckle down and turn it around.

I reckon its spot on about Hutchings. We wanted a relatively mature backup for a mid seeing as we lost Stevens/Swift/Ebert all in a 2 year period.

I don't see the point of having a back up if he's shit.

I think the comment quigley covers it. I will say would have gone higher had he not been injured.

Mark Hutchings at #60 is why I laugh at the sheep who say 'In WC / WC recruiters we trust'. Hutchings in the ND is the pick of nuffies.

Hard to understand why we selected someone who would almost certainly have lasted to the rookie draft and seems to be a back up mid at best when we could have got a genuine, if troubled, talent like Garlett.

As it stands, Garlett may still be available come our first rookie selection though if Freo don't take him first.

Maybe we got Hutchings to keep Dalziell company

Whenever I have seen him at WAFL level I haven't been impressed. I reckon he's a merchant who isn't anywhere near AFL standard.

Hutchings is a stupid pick, Nelson is so much better, Gartlett would of been worth the risk there.

Hutchings will never play a game for us, probaly delisted at end of season.

Colledge needs to be developed into a mid, we lack height and size in the mids as it is.

Stoked with Carter at #59, and Colledge is a good pick up in my opinion.
Not sold on the Hutchings selection just yet, would have preferred Rodda, Garlett or Lowrie.

Some great rookie options still around.
We've been strongly linked to Lucas Cook and there'll also be Garlett, Rodda, Warrell, Lowrie, Wilkins, Haynes, Nelson, Tipungwuti, Symonds, Howson, Colquhoun, Taylor, Yarran, Fort and Aliir to name a few.

Any two of Garlett, Rodda, Warrell, Lowrie, Nelson and Taylor for the rookie draft would be incredible.

im not sure if i have mistaken him for another player but apparently garlett didnt tell recruiters until a few days ago that he has a 1 year old in geraldton

(edit: no that was josh simpson. hopefully he cant get his head around it all at freo, gets delisted, sorts his shit out then we get him in 2015 )
