Interesting, Grundy or Wellingham?
Grundy.Interesting, Grundy or Wellingham?
Good points.Depends though. We wouldn't have a Swift or Stevens to throw into the side for one or two games if one of our midfielders miss just the odd game. We can't use a rookie for the odd game here and there, as you know, only if there's a long term injury.
Swift, Stevens, Neates and Strijk all filled in for games when we were missing players in 2012, yet none of them will be available to us next year. Putting a ready made replacement on the rookie list wouldn't fix that.
We'd be left with Dalziell as our only other ready made midfielder back-up (assuming Shaz Well is in the 22 already, and Cripps/Sheppard aren't what you'd call 'ready-made' inside mid material).
Adam Carter only player who i think stands a good chance to play 100 games for WC, can kick both sides of his body, plays alot like his brother who i don't mind at the blues, but is a out an out outside player winger an half back,

Not 1 player we drafter today will play more than 25 games, excluding dick. Such a poor draft, im actually pretty devastated
Sorry. I was under the impression that Hutchings was an inside player, which made me think that he might be slow. However, if he has good pace he could be just what we need. For #$%^ sake, can all the armchair experts take a depth breath for a second.
Dayle Garlett was obviously past up for a reason, 18 clubs seem to agree on why.
Colledge is the same height as glass and woosha just refered to him as key position on the fox sports coverage.
For those nuffys asking what hutchings has done since the U18s. Hes chopped up in the WAFL until getting injured in 2011 and finished runner up to a record breaking winner last year. Hes not slow..."Hutchings' time of 2.83sec for the 20m sprint was faster than any time recorded at the National Draft Combine". He worked his backside off and has been rewarded for his efforts, something garlett needs to learn. Sure he would have been available in the rookie draft but GUESS WHAT?...so is Garlett.
Im not claiming our picks are all gunna be guns, after all our first pick was 45.
But im sure your all correct, seeing as you work for AFL clubs.

I wouldn't mention Hutchings in the same sentence as Dalziell, and not because I particularly rate the latter.Hard to understand why we selected someone who would almost certainly have lasted to the rookie draft and seems to be a back up mid at best when we could have got a genuine, if troubled, talent like Garlett.
As it stands, Garlett may still be available come our first rookie selection though if Freo don't take him first.
Maybe we got Hutchings to keep Dalziell company
There are some of us who have watched a lot of the juniors and thus form an opinion on these draftees. IMO we have gone wayyyyyy to safe
