I find it flattering to Biden that Republicans thought he could undo in 36hrs something the Republicans had been doing for 4 years.

I just find it totally ironic how, after spending 4 years actively dividing the nation, that now is the time to 'Heal' and 'Unite'.

Utterly clueless and hypocritical bigots and morons.

Well Joe had to walk through there to get to a photo op ya see... :tearsofjoy:

Good lord man, I've seen twisties that are straighter than you currently. There's quite a bit to legitimately criticise Biden for and you go out of your way to find stuff from RW plonkers complaining about feds doing 1 day after innauguration exactly what Trump personally did :tearsofjoy:

I'm starting to think this is a long con parody account.

** Biden supposedly got the most votes in history, therefore you want us to believe he is the most popular president in history!!! **

I realize that you find this logic to be ironclad. And given just about every other argument you have made on this board, I can see why you would find it persuasive.

But there are many reasons that the entire premise is just silly. The easiest way to demonstrate the absurdity of it, is that Trump got the second most votes in history. Yet modern polling ranked him as the least popular president of the modern era after one term. Oh no! How can that be?!?? He got so many votes!!

Even more ridiculous, your reasoning necessarily supposes that Trump is actually the most popular president ever (you think he got the most votes ever, not the second most).

Sad.

Its equal parts hilarious and sad.

Crankitup and his brethren spent the better part of last year telling us how boring, invisible, establishment and uninspiring Biden was. He then gets 'ratings' (or whatever fever dream of data cranky is currently focused on) that corresponds exactly to their assessment of him and they're all how can this be!? :tearsofjoy:

I wouldn't watch a Biden speech if you paid me. Conversely, I have tuned into the odd Trumpy address - and I actively dislike the guy! For better or worse, Trump is an entertainer. Pity he wasn't also a leader lol.

Biden got 80M votes precisely due to one factor - Donald J Trump. I reckon a (D) pot plant would have got 50 million.

Still wondering what @Crankitup’s rationale is for some polls being reliable and others not.

Also still wondering how Balls In justifies repeated claims that Biden is supposedly more popular than, for example, Lincoln, Roosevelt and Reagan.

Amazing how quiet they go when they get difficult questions.

True but lets face it Trump didn't get elected spewing empty rhetoric claiming to govern for all. He attacked Obama's policies publicly and told everyone what he intended, then he was elected and he did it. In contrast Joe hid in his basement refusing to answer questions or even talk to anyone unless it was scripted with him talking to a teleprompter. Now he has come in and he is tearing up Trumps policies that a great many Americans support, like the Keystone Pipeline.

The wall?
Mexico paying for it?
Replace Obamacare? (so easy, my plan is ready to go! :tearsofjoy:)

Those were clearly his biggest platforms and he squibbed the lot. A campaign more full of empty rhetoric you'd go a long way to find.

You think the pleas for unity from the “fu** your feelings” crowd may not be made in good faith?
Mate I'm always open to finding common ground. As for feelings I'll confess conservatives struggle when feelings override common sense. Take Joe's executive order on gender-identity for example. What a lovely sentiment it is to declare it illegal to discriminate on the basis of gender identity. Of course the devil is always in the detail....

I don't believe he is the most popular president.

Absolutely. He’s a carnival barker. And if we weren’t dealing with matters of deadly import, his schtick can be seen for what it is- engaging, entertaining. I actually liked him. Before his candidacy, before the birtherism, way back when he was just a showman. He amused me, in exactly the way that Joe Pesci was worried that he may be entertaining in Goodfellas. Just a complete clown, and for the most part harmless.

I’ll be showing my age a bit, when I admit that I met him once, many years ago, was a bit disrespectful to him, and he had me 86’d from the Taj Mahal. And still I liked him!

It’s straight from Trump’s own playbook. News I don’t like? Fake news. Polls I don’t like? Fake polls.

I have no doubt you know this, but sometimes it’s worth stating what’s plainly obvious.

Oh yeah I know, but when I pointed that out I got told it was a straw man argument. So I asked what the actual difference was. Then crickets.

Anyone want to have a bet on whether I get an answer before the end of Biden’s presidency? I know which way I’ll be tipping.

🤔

Oh, actually that was Cranky running with that line today.
Still struggling with irony, huh?

I don't believe Joe is the most popular president. He did get the highest votes of all presidents (in one of the highest voter turnouts by population) in US election history however. Its one of the many anomalies of that election.

Still struggling with irony, huh?

I’m definitely struggling with your concept of irony.

Last time you brought it up I asked what about the point you were making was the ironic part. The response was the Great Cricket Chorus.

Anamoly: when the guy I want to win loses

Definitely an anomaly when the absentee voting rules are relaxed in one of the bitterest, most divisive presidential campaigns in history, and it results in a record high turnout.

No one would ever have seen that coming. Apart from all the people who did, of course.

I got told it was a straw man argument.

Which it was. An intentionally misrepresented proposition that is set up because it is easier to defeat than an opponent's real argument.

Then crickets.

You're not worthy of a response TBH. If you want me to take you seriously then stop misrepresenting my comments and ideas. If they're as stupid as you claim you shouldn't feel the need to do so. Just answer them as they are without rephrasing or twisting them when rebutting them in your response. You're not the only one but that's hardly an excuse.

Speaking of crickets do you remember the last time you complained I hadn't given you a quick enough response?

In the next post I gave you a comprehensive answer and then ..... crickets. No thank you or rebuttal, just silence.

Except that video was from yesterday.

Time. Another concept I will have to explain obviously.

Biden was sworn in around 11:30 am on the 20th (East coast US time). The video was taken at 11:30 pm on the 21st .... which is 36 hours later or 1.5 days.

You really aren't very good at this are you?

Projecting again?
