Great hard footballer? He is a coward and has staged for free kicks his whole career - instead of doing what Sewell does each week and put his body on the line and try and win the hard ball. The comp improves with his retirement.

he will go and it's rubbish imo. it looked like he was gioing for the ball and these things have happened before3 and no one has been suspended for it. he should not be suspended for this. i said the same thing with buddy and i cant see how they can suspend him

You talking about the ball that was already in Sewells hands.
The only thing that will go his way is the Hawthorn player that was nudging him from behind, either way he's getting weeks!!

In the end there is not a great deal of difference between the Franklin hit and the Lloyd hit except that Sewell was knocked out to a greater extent.

I am going to bet that many of the same people who said last week that the AFL were weak for suspending Franklin will be calling for 6 weeks suspension for Lloyd this week.

Today's hit was the reason the AFL cracked down on such incidents as it can have very sever consequences.

Oh yeah and I thought the way those bastardly Hawks ganged up on Lloyd after the incident was outrageous. Absolutely cowardly for all those blokes to go after one bloke like they did. That's appauling and literally criminal behaviour, way more diserving of reprimand than what Lloyd did.

Lloyd is hardly the first AFL player in the twilight of their career to turn to thuggery because they can no longer help their team purely through skill.

Byron Pickett, Alastair Lynch, there are lots more examples out there.

For mine, this incident is a bit more serious as Sewell's head was down over the ball and he had no vision of Lloyd coming and no chance to brace himself.

This is what the rule was meant for. The rules specifically refer to these hits when a player has a "head over the ball". No gray area here I don't think this time.

Add to that campbell brown had a concussion and was trying to actually win the game.
Why hit lloyd when he was actually helping the hawks by being on the field. The only thing he did all day was the hit. Though even I admit it was what won the game so you have to give him that.
