I think the problem with the whole thing is that people are describing it as a bump, which if looked at correctly, it simply wasn't.

Front-on collision would be more accurate. By looking at that definition, it has to be determined a different way to what a bump would be.

i got nothing against campbell brown and he is tough hard footballer at most of the time. but he has made an absolute dick of himself on the radio. it's not hard to go on the radio and say it will be payback the next time they play the dons. when it would have been easier and more sense to do it during the game today

As far as Im concerned Lloyd today answered to everyone that has criticised him as a captain. He hadnt done much for a half, team was down, came out in the first play of the second half and set a standard. Is it suspendible? Very well maybe - but Im 100% happy with what he did!

Now as far as that little coward C. Brown is concerned - I can be the toughest guy behing the radio microphone as well! He had a whole half to deal with Lloydy and he was nowhere to be seen! What did he do? He SLAPPED monfries? What is he a girl or something? he comes out and calls Lloydy a sniper and that his time will come... COming from someone that ran into a hurt 20yo Winderlich in 2004. Pot calling the kettle black!!!

Suck shit Hawks! Its all over!!!
 
five years ago, would probably be safe. 2009 hes gone for a few weeks, its a shame really the way the game is going, im all for protecting a guys head and saftey, but at the same time you have to take into consideration the intent of the player who made the contact.

Really if you look at it , guys diving in head first into a pack should have as much responsibility about the saftey of their own head/neck as the guy coming into the contest to contest the ball.

Could see this happening a mile away with the way they suspended buddy, they are going to have to be just as harsh in the finals. Some poor bloke is gonna cop weeks and miss a final for something so minor, J Cloke just one example

Carey might get ranked in the top 10 of all-time, but, to say he was the best ever is a very long bow to stretch!

In terms of the modern era, Carey would be ranked equal with Hird, Buckley, Voss, Harvey etc.

He came from about 10 metres away, not at full pace, was made to change direction by his Dawks opponent, and clumsily collided with Sewell. He didn't line anyone up, and actually did well not to knock himself out.

Now we all know Buddy was hardly done by... but FFS get over it!

I don't think you understand what it means to be honest!

If there was any, we would have been handed the win on a golden platter. We were the ones that got shafted during the week, and again today. That isn't karma - that's a continuation of the AFL having a completely embarrassing week - unfortunately at our expense.
 
Think he should get 1-2 weeks, you can't make contact with the head and get nothing. I certainly didn't think it was intentional and is highly possible that the Bombers will be able to argue to say Shoenmakers really restricted Lloyd's ability to move out of the way, certainly looked to be some sort of a push to Lloyds back. In terms of gutless acts Bateman was far worse.

If Franklin got 1 originally then Lloyd has to get a minimum of 2. It was simply a worse offence.

The above case is assuming consistency from the tribunal which is unlikely though.

Do the bombers really care if Lloyd misses any game ? He is a has been , a liability to the team.

Nope. The rule specifically refers to bumping or forceful front-on contact when the opponent has his head over the ball.

Exactly describes the incident.

The ONLY discussion is of the penalty.
Contact was high, no disputing that
Impact was high IMO
Conduct was reckless.

Level 4 550 points. FIVE weeks. Four with an early plea.

Never said he was the best ever - but when you talk about the best of all time - Ablett, Matthews and Carey are the ones that went to another level. Hird is not is not to be grouped with the above 3 unless your trying to play "pick the odd one out" game.

Anyway back to the thread - 2 weeks for the bump and 2 for being a coward = 4 weeks in total.

Firstly, it's "overrated IN my books".

Secondly, it's "you're" and not "your".

Thirdly, I don't play for the Melboune Football Club so I can't affect how many games they win.

Fourthly, Melbourne has won a game this year, four in fact. It's not a good year but every team has its troughs.

Fifthly, I'm a neutral supporter so I'm not blinded by bias towards/against Lloyd, Franklin, Sewell, Brown etc in this case.

Sixthly, It's probably past your bed time.

I really enjoyed that hit Lloyd did on Sewell and if anyone see's differently I think you should toughen the f**k up you weak ba#stards.
