I'm sure the doctors can do something about your attention span. Lloyd extracted himself and bolted as quickly as he could.
What I saw was Lloyd fighting off 3 Hawks who had come in to remonstrate with him.

As I said, the doctors can do something about that.

I'm sure you will have a much more rewarding life when you can concentrate on something for more than 5 seconds.
I liked Campbell Brown having a go at the Essendon bench as he came off. Such a tough man he is.

Amazing all the bluster about a bump, especially after a week of whining. Lloyd will get off. Look at the replay, especially where you can see what happened to Lloyd rather than Sewell. Schoenmakers pushed Lloyd into Sewell. It was the no. 25's push that caused the collision. High contact, severe contact, accidental. Play on Harry Highpants.

Silly, silly boy.

Schoenmakers barely had his hands in him and was certainly in no position to exert any force on Lloyd at all. There was no contact at all for the last few steps and no indication he was out of control when he hit Sewell.

I didn't like that bump at all. He executed it terribly against a player that had his head over the ball and knocked him unconscious. The Buddy bump was legit but Lloyd's was reckless. I can't defend him on this occasion.

Still, you'd have to question the reaction from the Hawthorn players. One of their players was seriously injured and they fell to pieces after clearly dominating up until half time. I was expecting a ruthless reaction from the Hawks but they offered up absolutely nothing, save a few cheap shots of their own. The Lloyd incident has been a very convenient distraction for Hawthorn supporters to vent their spleen while forgetting about the serious shortcomings of their club this season.

Agree. It wasn't a push. His hands just slid off his back.

Is there an etiquette to remonstrations now? Line up and wait your turn.

Just showed a good shot of the mystical Lloyd push, thankfully it was proven to be false. Shoenmakers did have his hand on Lloyd but it wasn't a push and he wasn't making the contact for long.

Lloyd will argue this but don't think it will hold up well at all.

Certainly that's an issue too. However, we had a very young team as it was and that incident left us with 2 players that were gone for the game. We have struggled to run out games all season - with 2 down it was more a case of running out of steam, rather than falling to pieces because of that incident.

Spot on about the highlighted but a bit harsh on Loyd, the bump may have been a bit clumsy, the result may cost him but their has been a major over reaction as to Loyds intent.

memo to Hawk supporters...season over...let it go.

Don't shoot the messenger. On second thoughts...
Nah, I looked again, Shoenmakers had both hands on Lloyd's back, gave him a shove.
Should have been a free kick to Lloyd. There's good vision on youtube now. Look at the initial televised shot

Re: Matthew Loyd Gone

I don't think you understand what it means to be honest!
At least you're honest. Not bright, but honest.

If there was any, we would have been handed the win on a golden platter. We were the ones that got shafted during the week, and again today. That isn't karma - that's a continuation of the AFL having a completely embarrassing week - unfortunately at our expense.

The only thing embarrassing this week was the squealing from your President down. I don't agree with the AFL's bullshit rules but the bluff and bravado comming from Hawthorn was pathetic. The karma comment was directed at the ridiculous reaction to Hawthorn after this incident - again from the president down.

FWIW, explain to me how you were 'shafted' today?

You like to pride yourself on playing 'unsociable' football and when it was returned, your team took a step backwards and there was hardly a player in a Hawthorn jumper that didn't hear footsteps for the rest of the game.

Essendon embarrassed you today. A team of kids scared the shit out of your team.

Just saw that footage again as well, if Lloyd didn't put his heads up it could of been an ugly head clash, he was attacking the ball and as a result knocked Sewell out

Do you have any idea?

Correct - but quite frankly it is a win win for bombers - sewell was taken out of the game when he was clearly our most influential player and knights would have been looking for an excuse to not play him next week anyway.

One of their players was seriously injured and they fell to pieces

Having two left on the bench from very early in the third can be a little tiring don't you think.

offered up absolutely nothing, save a few cheap shots of their own.

Thought there were lots of cheap shots offered up by both - choir boys you weren't.

While we are talking about offering up nothing I cannot believe how long it took the bombers to put away a side that had no forward line and a very inexperienced backline. I look forward to watching a repeat awesome display from the bombers next week against Adelaide.

Season hasn't been brilliant - injuries, poor form but more importantly all that hard partying they did will not win you back to back.
Good news is though the Premiership Cup still says Hawks 08 and we will be able to get the partying out of the way real early and bounce back next season.

Re: Lloyd will get off

Lloyd had a duty of care. He will go.

Buddy's impact on Cousins was assessed as 'medium'. Lloyd's impact will be assessed as at least 'high' impact - so will get more weeks.

Strange how Cousin's case can be assessed as medium impact-He Had to be helped off the ground by 2 trainers and was so disorientated he tried to walk to the Hawthorn bench.

Funny that I thought the kids were playing in our side. Could be wrong of course can't be bothered checking that out.

The players that took a step backward were your senior players.

Your kidding, so bloody biased. Buddy gets 2? Lloyd must get 2 min.

What a ridicolous statement - No two incidents are the same.

Lloyd may get off or he may get 4 weeks.

Let's just say the AFL got the result they obviously wanted......and they played no small part in making it happen - either through the week or on the day.
