don't think he'd cost a bunch. Might just be a Crisp-style "steak knife" in a Jackson deal that sees both Meek and the Dees benefit.Back up ruck, 15 career games and only 6 this year. 3rd round pick at best
Unless they get GrundyDees makes a lot of sense as part of the Jackson deal.

both could work.Unless they get Grundy
I dunno about parking Gawn forward then having Meek be the I guess 3rd tall? Good luck applying f50 ground level pressure when you're playing 3 rucks. Pickett is great but he can't solve every problem himselfboth could work.
Park Gawn forward, Grundy/Meek ruck duo. Delist Brown and move Weideman on.
Trade McDonald to the DonsPlease
I doubt Meek would be putting his hand up to be on the same list as Gawn and Grundy.both could work.

Gawns a shizen forward. Can take a good mark sure but his set shot kicking is woefulboth could work.

he had an odd but reliable kick last year. really abandoned him this year. If he gets that back, he'd be good as FF with McDonald as CHF, and Fritsch, Kosi, Spargo, etc.Gawns a shizen forward. Can take a good mark sure but his set shot kicking is woeful
Yep. Would depend on the sell.I doubt Meek would be putting his hand up to be on the same list as Gawn and Grundy.
Sure there’s a chance to be playing some senior footy, but there’s also a bigger chance that he never leaves Casey.
Fremantle doesn't wish to trade Meek. Replacing Lobb with Jackson doesn't change his position in the queue, he's one injury to either away from playing and after Meek is nobody.
Gawn and Grundy at Melbourne would be the same situation, but Melbourne need a forward more than they need a ruck - they need Lobb more than Meek.
I think if a club was offering Meek first crack at the ruck in 2023 Fremantle would be wrong to hold him back from that, but that club also will value that position higher than a token pick in both contract to Meek and offer to Freo.
Yes it does actually. We have shown when Lobb was out that we most of the time still don't use meek.Fremantle doesn't wish to trade Meek. Replacing Lobb with Jackson doesn't change his position in the queue, he's one injury to either away from playing and after Meek is nobody.

Would have thought he'd be part of the Jackson deal. Makes much more sense for Melbourne than getting Grundy
In what world is a 24 year old ruck dominating WAFL someone that's 2-3 years away? Meek is literally in that perfect stage where he's ready to go and with his good injury history could conceivably be there another 8 years.Melb want someone who is ready to go now, not ready in two/three years. If Grundy pass the medical and they have faith in their fitness department, he would be a huge get.

Freo have probably the 3rd best ruck in the competition as things stand, and play two relatively immobile key forwards so they can't really play a second ruck unless he's an athletic freak like Jackson.Dominating in the WAFL is much different to the AFL. If he was truly ready he would be playing AFL. He is in and out of the Freo side, why would it be any different for the Demons?
I am not saying he is a bad player, but Melb want a player who if Gawn goes down with injury or plays forward more, they are able to have this person able compete in the same manner. Meek is just not that, not yet. Grundy is, assuming he gets his body right.
I think in a team that wasn't competing for the flag, Meek would be great. But we are talking Melbourne here, and Meek is just not at that level.
Whilst it's debatable how good he is he's AFL ready and looked pretty handy when given a shot, it's just hard to have 2 slower types in the one side with Darcy there as no 1.Dominating in the WAFL is much different to the AFL. So is he a legit chance to move?
God you Freo guys have an endless list of people in the WA media that are out to get you don’t you?![]()
Agree.Something in the region of pick 35 is my guess. Freo just haven’t given him the opportunities to really show what he can do at this level, but bringing in Jackson pretty much guarantees he won’t get a game unless they really do play Jackson as a ruck/forward by choice. Then he still gets a game if Darcy gets hurt
Jackson athletic ability works with Grundy.Would have thought he'd be part of the Jackson deal. Makes much more sense for Melbourne than getting Grundy
