"We're open to looking at all matters before us and all suggestions that have been put before us and all matters emerging from the trial."

"He will assemble a team of independent investigators and some local investigators as well, so I expect him to bring in some people from the eastern states and independent forensic experts," Mr O'Callaghan said.

"I think firstly they will have a look at the material that they have and give us an idea of how long it might take, so that process will take about two to three weeks and then we will be clear on how long the whole investigation will take.

Mr Rayney's lawyer, David Edwardson QC, rejected claims the review would be independent and told 720 ABC Perth he was not filled with confidence about the commissioner's reassurances.

He questioned how it could be independent because it would be headed by an assistant police commissioner.

"The investigation is flawed from beginning to end, and the comments made by the judge about some of the investigators is extraordinary," he said.

"So how could anyone have confidence in a truly cold-case review unless it is in fact independent?

If I understand correctly the review has been finished and in the hands of the Coroner, where it's been for up to two years. No word on what the review found and no word whether there will be a Coronal Inquiry?

A good start would be to test all the DNA evidence they found in her car and at the grave site. A hanky with two unknown female DNA and one unknown male from a grave they didn't think would be found would be very important I'd say.

I think too big a deal was made out of whether the boots were knee high or calf high. If witnessed as black cowboy boots with white trims should have been enough to confirm it was Corryn imo.

If Corryn wasn't the victim of a random stranger crime, imo she may have been having an affair with someone high up in a work environment. Whatever arrangements they made to meet were done in person, at work. No emails or text or she had a throwaway phone that was disappeared. S/he may have been married and jilted her or they got caught. If she'd threatened Lloyd with exposure and wrecking his career, who's to say Corryn wasn't up for threatening her lover?

Just a theory. OESpy might have a better one.

I must admit, I was disheartened to realise that so many police officers have access to and participate in the actual forensic process in regard to bodies. Call me cynical, but I dont believe anyone should be able to access a body between the time a crime scene has been sealed which should prevent all access temporarily except by the person that sealed it, the body has been taken by a coroner and the pathologists have finished a post mortem.
That way there'd be no reason for any contamination issues or DNA profiles having to be excluded from testing besides maybe 5 people max.

I pondered this with the boot being a mess. It looked like they had pulled everything out the boot, put it in the back the car for at least some the trip then put Corryn in the boot. Then visa vera later.

Hardly. It did appear both sides had extra marital affairs. Unless Mr Rayney had all his assets in Corryns name, it would have been better to split sooner rather than later.

I wonder if the criminals police had interviewed regarding Rayney had business dealings with Morey?

Not in my opinion. Non issue. Everyone knew he gambled and always had, it was no secret. I doubt it was a real issue for them either, even if they fought about it & I think that goes for most of the other things mentioned in their emails too.
I'd even have a wager she had no intention of kicking him out of the house or following through on anything else she threatened him with, not then anyway. I dont doubt they'd have separated eventually but at that time, it looked more to do with power than anything else to me, on both sides.

So what drugs was he selling at Bentley Community Centre carpark in years past? Only 300 metres from where Dorothy was dumped on Centenary Avenue in 1988.

The report noted Lacco began using heroin at the age of 18 and started taking amphetamines soon after.

Just a laymans thoughts . If you think of the car going forward then the damage fits

From the sump the obstruction then hits the ? catalytic ? denting it then continues in a line over the lower pipe section then along to the black scrape mark. Its a straight line angle and can only occur going forward

Its frikkin huge, like those news article images that are illegible. Never.

Its hard to tell because of image resolution but looks like the sway bar is lightly bent. Quite a feat!

Even the front end steering assembly looks rough.

I can imagine the car jumping on impact. Possible the transmission sump landing on the stump. No sign the bollard footing.

Its all a bit dodgy to me as well. Only way I can make sense of it is that the damage done to the exhaust is done in reverse but the sump and cat conv damage looks to be going forward. If by jumped you mean like they got wedged on something and its rolled & shifted around underneath as they tried to dislodge it, I can accept that. Explains the damage not being consistent with one way or another too.

This one not so explainable. Looks to me like the furthest point a car got before reversing out but it spent some time losing oil there. Anyone know how far the bollards are off the road? I imagine its fairly close & probably grassy, so where's this if its not further into the track?

Look at this photo and it is very consistent of being driven in

Looking at the left hand side there is a lot of wear and tear already. Notice also the 'hole' . All it takes is the stump to drop into that space and rip away any metal or to be revved, jumped and snapped. The thing that convinces me is there is no internal mark on that cut. If the car is in reverse then I expect marking to be inside that well where the break is
