Could of been worse, fans could of started spitting on Knighter like the Richmond supporters.

I was at isle 8 where knighter was coming in and out and even at 3 qtr time he was still getting a big cheer from the bombers faithful.

"AND if you're going to go outside the 50... FFS don't send Watson in to run out of the square!"

If only Watson could kick set shots he looked the most dangerous out of everyone that had a crack at full foward. That 2nd quarter after the first 5 mins we had all the play just for Watson and others to kick badly.

How ****ing dare essendon "supporters" mouth off at Matthew Lloyd, you un-thinking, totally brain dead ****wits. **** off out of my club.

Couldn't agree more! I was absolutely appalled when I heard people mouthing off when lloyd got the ball. what crap about it being only geelong fans, the jeer was way too big to be solely from the cats supporters. Our captain, who kicked six last week, has 1 bad match and this is the way some of our supporters treat him! Disgusting! Lloyd is a true champion of the game and should be treated as such. For all the so-called supporters who did give him a jeer, don't go to anymore games. We would play better without you!

Wasn't @ the game myself but would hate to think that our own supporters would give it to Lloyd or any of our boys. Does anyone seriously believe that they aren't trying out there? I think that they give their all each and every time they go out to play. We were smashed by a far superior team (except Paddy Ryder according to all I have read and heard). I don't think they need us to tell them they had a bad game the look on their faces and their body language says it all. I have unfortunately had the misfortine of having to sit with Geelong members before and they certainly give Lloyd nothing. From the way they speak of him you would swear he was the crappest player to ever play the game. Which as we all know is absolute crap. Let's hope Lloyd and the boys get back on track with a win over Carlton on Saturday night.

I'm not surprised that we didn't kick any more than 6 goals yesterday, and I'm not surprised that Lloyd didn't kick any!!!

Obviously we weren't prepared yesterday and obviously Matty Knights was trying out a style of footy we never played before and I'm not talking about the fast paced style of footy we've been playing lately (Which has been fantastic) we were playing that style yesterday but we were lacking out down in our forward line, If you actually think about it, our only real Experienced forward player was Lloyd..... We also had Mcphee, NLM and Lonergan down there too, but they weren't ever trained to play up forward either of them 3, Mcphee and NLM both have been playing up half back for the majority of their careers and Lonergan I'm guessing hasn't ever played forward at all, apparently in his high school years of playing football he was a real ball magnet who averaged 30 to 35 touches a game. Now this is what the Geelong backman will be thinking "Hey, it seems that Lloyd is going to be the only real target up forward today, so why don't we just double up on Lloyd and the rest of you can just zone off, Easy as F***ing piss".

I'm guessing our game plan yesterday was to try to kick to Lloyd in every contest possible, and hope that he'll kick 11 for the day, pretty unreliable plan I think. To me Lloyd had a pretty good game even though he didn't kick a goal, if I was a selector for this footy team and I hate to say it but I would have picked the big CJ to come into the side this week, at least he has some sort of experiance up forward at all, he could of had a huge impact on the game, you know, we could have lost by only 98 points, see the huge difference it makes.

I think it is very difficult for Lloyd to kick any goals when we persist with playing Lloyd further up the ground. I personally thought Lloyd did a very nice job, often marking the ball about 60-70 metres and giving the hands off to someone running past. However i would most certainly prefer him being the next kick rather than the one marking 60 out. Lloyd is more likely to kick a bag playing out of the goal square than he is playing further up the ground.

Everyone shat themselves going forward, decision making was terrible and no one could keep a calm head in the final 3rd of the ground.

If anyone booed Lloyd then harden the **** up.

Too Right ... It was the final kick to go inside 50 that really killed us yesterday. Too many skill errors and too many bad decisions.

Listening to Knighta in the PC he knows this. I think alot can be attributed to the Cats awesome percieved pressure...

Hopefully we learn, improve in the area's we need to and move on..

Also to any Bombers supporters that got stuck into the Captain of your Club ... F18k off we don't need you!!

Essendon supporters shouldn't be saying nothing bad about Lloyd. Show some pride get behind the players, even if we do lose a game, to probably the best side in the AFL. Everyone has the bad days every now and then and thats normal. But if they are losing should still be cheering for them, they might get a lift from it. Lloyd played good yesterday. He's our captain respect him.

here here. Its hard to do much in the forward line when the ball doesnt get down there, and when it does its a rushed disposal under pressure.

I thought Lloyd fought hard all day. A true professional.
You guys are famous, you made today's MX.

I heard the McPhee shite, but Lloyd? It was clearly geelong fans booing.

Exactly, where I was sitting us Bombers were out numbered about 30 to one, most of the dropkick Cats supporters jeered when Lloyd got the ball, kudos to the few who didn't & shook their heads at those that did.

Wasn't at the game, and could only watch the first half on TV, but any booing of Lloyd sounds pretty disgraceful.

A question though: why ISN'T Lloydy playing one-on-one leadup out of the goalsquare? That's where he has always done his best work (i.e. where his two tons came from a few years back) and having that single clear target may have helped our delivery into the forward line. While he isn't obviously at his peak, I can still see him being strong and quick enough to get off Scarlett on the lead or play body-on-body in the square.

Why isn't he played like that any more? Even if he doesn't mark it, surely we could get some crumbers (Davey, Jetta) running front and square to feed off that? Anything would be better than the crap setup we had on Sunday. What are your guys thoughts?

They're the theatre goers at the club, and every club has them. They pay for a ticket and a seat, and either clap or boo, they're not real supporters of the red and black. I got rid of one of them on Sunday standing behind him, I was in his ear all afternoon and finally the sauce on the four'n twenty found its target.

As mentioned by a few others, it was mostly if not primarily Cat fans. I was in the AFL members and there was zero jeering of Lloyd where I sat. All of the jeers seemed to come from the opposite wing aka the Geelong member’s reserved seating area.

It was a strange match, normally if we are being thrashed I would be screaming but I felt we gave our best and Geelong are a great side that has imporved on last year as I though might happen once they managed to win a flag.

Lloyd knows he was beaten and doesn't need us to remind him, Scarlett is one of the best full backs I've seen play the game and as a team we were given a working over, I will be more disappointed if we get thrashed by Carlton.

Essendon tends to get thashed at least once a year and if that is the worst we play this year then I'm happy.

Was lloyd beaten? Just becuase he didn't kick any goals doesn't mean he didn't contribute.

He was far from our worse.
