He kicked 62 goals last year with an average midfield kicking to him (JJ, Peverill ect). I don't see why he couldn't kick 70+ goals if we manage to get a good midfielder together and start giving him some good delivery, consistantly aswell doing the small things like teammates help blocking his opponent when he goes on the lead ect.Lloyds goals have mainly come from fast leading.
He has lost a yard (Not basing it on tonights game) and we don't have enough quality deliverers of the ball.
We don't win any where near enough of the ball to give him enough opportunities and by the time we do he will be older and a touch slower again.
He isn't the type of player that can change his game and go and stand in the square and take contested marks.
None of this means that he can't contribute, but he won't be kicking 70+ any more.

If he get's this in the future (which I think he will) and plays close to goal and given a bit more space in the forward 50 he should be able to kick those 70+ goals a year.

Merv, I'm reading a bit of a smirk into this! Surely you're just provoking for a bite.![]()
Write this bloke off at your peril. Amazing how some brains work.

If he did continue his form slump through the entire season, would you want him taking the place of a potential young gun next year? and yes i realise he says he is not 100% fit. But judd still has a massive impact on all his games and hes also not 100% fit.
The reason i ask, is i hated seeing benny dixon leave the hawks cause he'd given his all to the club and you feel the club owes him something in return. But not at the expense of winning games.
I reckon lastnight essendon would have been able to play an up-and-comer on their list who would have had more of an impact on the game and definately played with more tenacity.
ok 3 things.
1. If Lloyd wasn't fit why was he playing? Knighter said at the start of the year anyone who isn't 100% fit will not be playing.
2. This shows that Knighter has absolutely no faith whats-so-ever in Courtney Johns.
3. The delivery into Lloyd last night was F______ terrible. High balls that was Hudgthon's bread and butter.
Even when the delivery was ok he was badly beaten. What I love about him is he keeps his chin up and persists without any sign of defeat. He has truely been a great champion! I think he will be a great leader from now on, but not our match winner like in the past.
As for the comments re only the first few games, this trend has been apparent for a few years now, ever since he avulsed his hamstring tendon off the bone. This injury was a lot more serious than most realise.
Lloyd had a shocker. He was well beaten, but like all champions he'll be back next week against the pies.
