Matters little about who gets the free kicks.

Lloyd plays for free kicks all day.

So the new argument is that Lloyd plays for free kicks?

Why are you all going on about how Lloyd gets so many goals from frees then?

Playing for frees and kicking goals from them are two completely different things.

As i said earlier most folk on BF care more about myths than facts.

At the end of the day i would rather have a player play for frees but then get on with the play as opposed to someone like Fevola who constantly gives up if things don't go his way and sits there argueing with the umpires whilst the ball is still in dispute. He did this about 5 times last week alone. It is embarrassing for his team mates and himself.

Which goal are you talking about? Lloyd kicked zero goals from free kicks last night.
Perhaps they mean when he was awarded a 50m penalty? He probably would've kicked that goal without it though.

I really don't think Carlton fans have the right to have a go at Lloyd for diving after Fevola's performance in the last quarter when he acted as if he'd been shot in that incident with McVeigh.

nah nah he didnt, just another biased essendscum supporter with the average IQ of 5 honestly just go back to your scummy board.

So please enlighten me and tell me which goals he kicked from free kicks?

One was kicked after a mark recieved from Stanton - goal converted from outside 50.

One was a handball recieve from Davey in the goal square.

One was a conversion from a mark approx 35 out on a tight angle. From memory Lonergan laid the assist.

One was from a contested mark where he beat two Blues defenders.

I know my IQ is only 5 but i still think 1+1+1+1 = 4?

Thats means none of the 4 goals he kicked were from frees.

But then i again i like your way of argueing a point. Instead of explaining your view you take the "nah your wrong im right now go away" approach. Obviously not big enough to admit you stuffed up?

ROFL but that is not a goal from a free kick.

He took a contested mark 20 metres out in front of goal. He was given a 50 metre penalty for being dumped after outmarking two defenders. Anyway, their would not be one football follower in the country that could dispute that 50. The Carlton guy new it was a certain goal so he just dumped him after the mark to make him earn it.

Is this really what the OP is refering to? If so i feel very sorry for him.

Just been watching a replay of the game on Fox. Lloyd would have the be the worst foward in the A.F.L, honestly whenever the ball gets near him he bloody slips over. He kicked 4 goals for the game, but 90% of those goals he kicked were free-kicks from the umpire.

Absolute crap he is and if i was an Essendon supporter i'd be ashamed to have this sort of player on the team, he nothing but a scum, a diver!

Hands in the back rule= the Matthew Lloyd diving rule

1. he got 1 goal as a result from a free kick from memory..
2. over his career he has more frees against then frees for.
3. fevola dives almost as much as lloyd
4. he has kicked 10 goals in 3 games.. and against some quality defenders including scarlett.
5. if you have watched any essendon games this year and kept up with any reprots from knights you would realise that lloyd is more of a decoy full forward.. he moves up the ground to tkae the best defender away from the goalsquare. KNIGHTS DOES NOT INTEND FOR LLOYD TO BE KICKING BAGS EACH WEEK.. if you watched the game at all tonight or last week you would realise that lloyd doesnt get many opportunities. fevola would have had 3 times the opportunities lloyd did tonight.. knights has said from the start when he was first selected that he wants some help down forward and doesnt want lloyd and lucas kicking all the goals he wants an even spread of goal kickers which is what we have been acheiving so far.. it makes us less one dimensional and a much better team.

YOU OBVIOUSLY watch about 1 or 2 essendon games a year and dont know at all how footy seems to work

Admitting he plays for frees, thank god.

Fev was excellent last night, didn't argue, and put pressure on dispite the fact he was copping a raw deal.

Champion.:thumbsu:

So we are now going to judge entire careers on the basis of one whole game? Wow, they'd be a few superstars in the competition then...

Wow, that's great - but why don't you dig up the "Goals from Frees" statistic? Would be much more relevant to your discussion.
We know 2 went to Lloyd plus the gimme he got with the handpas over the top. Did he actually earn one?

Pretty pathetic how Lloyd can just dive all night and be rewarded for it whilst Fevola cannot get a proper decision whatever he does. The one where he used his body to mark against Michael and got penalised for hands in the back was terrible.

haha dont you love exagerating... lloyd got 2 free kicks for last night... 2 in over 100 minutes of footy... yeh sorry my mistake he must have got rewarded for "all night"..

its funny how you guys dont think fevola dives.... we admit lloyd does but you cant even admit your own full forward does it much more then the average full forward..

that was a free kick for mine, whether you use your body or hands it doesnt matter the old rule of "push in the back" still applies. and fev used his body and PUSHED mal in the back.. its a free kick 8/10..

just because they invented a crap rule where your hands cant be in hte oppositions back doesnt mean the old rule just vanishes..

Lloyd plays for free kicks all day.

if that was true then every carlton supporter would be laughing at lloyd instead of being angry.. why would you all be so pissed off at lloyd if none of his diving attempts actually worked?? fact is fevola does it almost as much as lloyd...
in saying that
i liked the way fevola played last night, didnt whinge like he normally does, only dived on a few occasions and played an unselfish brand of footy.. lets see if he can keep it up..

It was actually his side so it should have been paid as a mark to Fevola. However you may be right, it has been about 6 years since I studied anatomy and maybe they have changed the defined area of ones back.

i was at the game... havent watched any replays yet but it looked like it was in the back to me.. even a carlton supporter sitting behind me said it looked in the back.

I was actually because he lost his feet on numerous occasions and allowed Jamison to clean up. Good players keep their feet.

I was there too. But on the replay it was quite clear and the commentators were mentioning that it should have been a mark.

Mate i watched the reply on fox just before also. The commentators didn't give an opinion either way so please don't make things up.

Directly he may not have received the free kick but it was a ridiculous free kick which gave essendon possession and pretty boy reaped the benefits.

What you should be asking yourself is how many times did essendon score a goal from gaining possession via a free kick or winning the ball illegally after the umps failed to make the right call.

But the funniest thing out of this all is that these Blues supporters are still saying he kicked goals from free kicks yet none of them will care to give some examples. Nothing worse than when a man can't admit he was wrong.
