Could we loan some of our posters to other BF boards?:D

More seriously, clubs would be concerned about protecting their IP, game plans, state secrets, etc.

Reminds me of that period when we were going into September and our assistant coaches were being poached prised away from us to other clubs whose seasons were finished (those were the days). It left us short of coaching nous at the pointy end of the season, but hanging onto them was seen as a risk because of their new club affiliation.

I didn't realise having little to no equality constituted something working well. We should stay as far away from anything the EPL does to further broaden the gap between the clubs as possible....
It works in the way of developing players. Not so much equality with teams, that's a financial issue.

Except in Soccer teams can loan their players to teams in a different league.

In AFL every time you loan someone you are loaning them to a direct rival, why would they want to develop your young kids for you then give them back at the expense of their own kids??

If a certain position is hammered by injuries for example, could take a player for a year or half a year.
It definitely has its pros and cons. More cons mind you.

Remember Soccer is a worldwide sport and most of the time players are loaned to teams that arent in the same country. There are not enough teams at the highest level to make this work.

Club lists are too short as it is. The margin for covering injured players is tiny, without having one or two fewer on teh list.

Wouldnt work in the AFL, I think a mid season trade period would be best. Not a draft as you would put all the state leagues off and the need to compensate the second tier. This would allow players to move where they are more needed and would probably increase the demand for them. Plus if there is an earlier trade period in the season maybe we can shorten the huge one at the end of the year.

I actually said this on essendon board we could of lianed them mason cox they need a ruckman he gets 1 year experience....good for everyone
Not in a million years. No way would Essendon develop our player for us. They'd rather lose but that's not even the main consideration. He's not playing for us because he isn't good enough. If he was good enough, or we thought he might be during the year, we wouldn't loan him out. Even if he was good enough, they'd rather use someone with a year or two left on the clock as a stopgap than our developing player.

The only way loans make sense is if you pay a lot of money for them and that money can be used to get other players. That just doesn't fit with our player controls.

would not work and l dislike the idea. we struggle with player loyalty now then we go and
give them away. want happens if we get injuries late in the season and need the player back ,
can we get them back or have to wait till the end of the season. to many problems with this

Funny I made this exact thread 6 months ago and use all jumped Down my throat it's always nice to have double standards though hey

I still think it is a Stupid Idea as We have only 1 League and not many like in Soccer
