well thats 15 mins of my life i'll never get back. this post is 90% dribble thanks mainly to the finger, with the help of a few other misguided souls. not much talk of actual cricket...
 
Seville v Silvan A grade called off due to ground conditions while every other grade and team played. You'd think it would be a priority to make sure the A grade had grounds to play on each week.:thumbsdown:

Good call. Were always gonna struggle to play at seville the ground is in ordinary condition.

3 of silvans A grade ended up getting a hit anyway. When the game was called off at seville they raced up to silvan and slotted into their b grade. Managed to get them from 5 for 28 to 120 odd, but ended up getting flogged anyway.

Silvan were never going to play they had made there mind up before they got there. Very happy to take a draw and go. Never going to get anywhere with a negative mind set like that.

Your not far of the mark finger, from all reports seville were keen to play but silvan wouldnt have a bar of it. At the end of the day they both miss out on points cant see why they wouldnt just get out there and play.
 
Hey NIGHTSTALKER you seem to be a little quiet lately seeing you claim to still be playing how'd you go on the weekend, make any runs take any wickets and who did you play against????

It happens. Everybody has to be somewhere!
Called back, eh? Begs the question why they appealed at all, or even let it stand.
Recall a match two years ago where slip went off his head at the ump who had turned down his ecstatic LBW appeal - when the batsman drove it through covers for two!
His team-mates just broke up. Slip still convinced he was plumb. Batsman mystified.
 
Results from the weekend??

Seville made 194 chasing Mt Evs 101. No big scores really diccelo got 40 and rackham got 30. Also beat them in the B Grade outright according to the seville website.

Dunno if you have a good understanding of what the standard has been like since 1939 finger?

The number of teams seems to be dropping of each year though which would effect the depth. Dont think its going to get much better anytime soon either.

No doubt the standard has dropped away more this year than any other. If you look at the players who arent playing its hard to argue otherwise.

Best two bats and most of there bowling gone. Franka one of the best if not best going around.

Warburton - Walker
Cam Darwall
Scott Darwall
Brent Summers

Best cricketer in the comp. Best spinner in the comp. Two of the Warbys top three bats in Darwall and Summers.

Healesville - Eddies
Foster
Newberry

Healesvilles best three cricketers. Three of the best in the comp.

Seville - Pignataro

One of the better allrounders last year.

Coldstream - Col Rice
Paul Evans
More that Ive missed.

About 17 A grade flags between them and two of the best bats up here.

Woori Yallock - Tim Diggins

Country Week opening bat Wooris top two or three for ten years.

Mt Ev - Muggsy

Premiership player coach number three bat.

Thats a lot of the top cricketers gone and weve had no one of note come in. Clubs are struggling with numbers in the lower grades also.

I know your only new to A grade but thats pretty harsh on Eddies who has been one of the best bowlers for nearly ten years. Digs has also been a fantastic contributer to Woori and Counrty week. Franka what plays once a month maybe. Cant see how the bowlings improved with no inclusions.

Youve been in A grade two seasons so maybe he decided to move down as hes older. Always made runs during the week and on some bad decks.

Nevertheless what happened Saturday 38 AO V Junction thats gotta hurt.
