I'm sure there's lots of changes, this is pretty minor but SMT in the Wimmera now have a teal back

Not a fan, but wish them well in there first season

I was at their first game against Torquay on Easter Saturday. They've really leant into the blue, more so than their AFL namesakes, to the extent that a lot of the club's merchandise seems pretty mismatched to my eye.

I'm no expert on this sort of stuff, but I don't think you'd expect that everyone in this photo (as far as I can tell) is wearing club merchandise, it's a bit of a mess.

Much better. Not your fault obviously but I think the colours just don't really work. They need a darker colour to balance out the in-your-face red and yellow, but the blue is too bright to work that way.

Yeah, I was making a similar point in the above post... I feel like the blue makes things a bit of a mess and there's way too many different main colours on the club merch (throwing dark and light grey into the mix) and too much inconsistency, where people wearing the blue cap with the red polo or grey jacket don't look like they're wearing gear from the same club.

My old club Mt Burr used to wear this design a long time ago. They're bringing it back this year as a one off (I think its a one off). Excuse their AI design as most local clubs do these days.

Heh. So Belgravia / NB are happy to replicate what is almost certainly a Nike design, but Nike won't touch what was the old Adidas design.

Good to know SMT actually have jumpers. Umpired one of their practice games this year and they rocked up with nothing to wear...they had to get a mate from Ballarat to scrounge around for a box of East Point jumpers for them.

The Geelong region is introducing a thirds grade or league comprised of clubs from the Geelong Football League, Geelong & District Football League and the Bellarine Football league.

All three league have the Vic Country logo on one side on the chest, and their league logo and league sponsor on the other side. as seen here




It'll be interesting to see what league the thirds comp will be in, or if they decide to create a new comp just for the thirds, and make a new logo and get a new league sponsor. GFL and BFL are both part of AFL Barwon, so I wouldn't be surprised if it'll be an AFL Barwon comp.

At the moment there's 6 teams competing in thirds practice matches with the league/grade supposedly starting next season.

From memory, the teams that are competing in the thirds practice matches at the moment are Anakie, Belmont, Queenscliff and St Albans. I cant remember the rest. The comp isnt tracking scores.

Traralgon Tyers United in the North Gippsland FNL has debuted a white clash jumper for the first time. Not many teams in this league wear clash kits so absolutely a positive but feel this was a missed chance for a red base with black sash. Also note this game against Cowwarr was actually a Traralgon Tyers home game.
