So tell us .... what are the biggest grudge matches in yours or any other regional/local leagues ?
To kick off ....
These days its probably Southport v Northern Eagles in the AFLQ, but the worst had to be the Coorparoo v Morningside or Sandgate v Windsor/Zillmere games of the good old days in the 60's and 70s.
In the 2nd division up here, I don't know (and this is from experience!) if the Alexandra Hills Bombers (nee Capalaba) and the Moorooka Roosters have EVER played a game in their short histories that didn't degenerate into a bloodbath.
I remember one game we played at Moorooka where 8 players were sent off (4 them and 4 us: you can do that up here!), 2 others went to hospital in separate ambulances (one a broken jaw and the other a broken leg), and the final score, in fine weather mind you, was us 3-9-27 to them 2-5-17. One of our blokes that got sent proceeded to jump the fence into the licenced area at the front of the clubhouse, and continue blueing with a number of reserve-graders. There wasn't much footy played that day, and a pretty woeful day for the code locally I might add.
The other "baddie" that happened to me was when the umpires walked off our Coorparoo v Morningside U/17 match when it degenerated into a free-for-all involving players and spectators. The QAFL even launched an investigation into it from memory, it was that bad. At the time, you feel 10 foot tall and bullet-proof in front of your mates and girlfriends, but I look back now and think it was a pretty ordinary thing to happen, especially for U/17s. (I remember it like it was yesterday)
The only "outside" one I kinda know of is possibly the old Port v Norwood clashes.

Anyway, that's what I reckon ........
