Couldn't find the link, to post it here but did anyone else see the piece in todays SMH titled Location,Location?
Sydney CEO Myles Baron-Hay in a recent newsletter(I knew I should have read it more thoroughly)suggesting that membership fees are "about to go through the roof"....."For the 1st time we're looking at grading memberships based on the location of reserved seats.In other words,he says,we think the quality of a member's seat should be reflected in what the member pays...we think it's only fair that a member occupying a seat under cover on the wing should expect to pay a premiumrelative to someone seated behind the goals".
Cynical money grab or fair enough?Thoughts?

I will swap my 2c made in China '10 year member pin' for the price increase for my seats.

That is why i have a good seat and should not pay more for it than any other member in a stand. I have the seats i have because nobody wanted them when i first joined.

Reward loyalty, with loyalty, not crappy badges.

If M.B-H, decides to "eat his own" by increasing prices for premium seats it will back fire dramatically.
I too got a useless 10 year badge in recognition of loyalty. Thats over $3,000 of my hard earned the Swans have got. (Tis not a bad deal at all.... fair price for extacy of 2005)
However, the lazy way to increase profits is to fleece your customers: short term gain for l o n g term pain!!
He would be better to get more members on board. 26,000 in a city of 4.5 million isn't too flash.
Surely there are a miriad of new methods of attracting new customers?? What's his Marketing Dept doing ??

That sounds very, very annoying. We're already paying some of the highest memebership fees in the league, and they want to bump it up even more?

Judging by what he (M B-H) is quoted as saying you can expect to pay a premium for a seat undercover on a wing ...relative to one behind yhe goals.Sounds like a bit each way.All seats will rise in price...just some more than others,is my guess.
